They're taking interviews out of context and attempting to label it as an attack by a terrorist grop, why can't you just report news and quit speculating? Nobody is going to care if you were the first to say a group did it.

and there i was thinking some1 left bombs in 4 places by accident... ohh Cnn, what would we do without you...

and it is to early to blame arabs... the event is international, maybe some1 was targeting all the african runners who dominate these events... not like US is short on extremist racists.

It doesn't mean he did it, but they are calling him a suspect. So it could be a foreign terror attack

This has been refuted.

I've been watching FOX news local Boston the last few hours and they keep saying it. I haven't heard it confirmed or denied, just saying what I'm hearing on FOX

FOX, that says it all, I would wait for a more reliable source...

why is that sketchy?

they do that on airplanes, in airports, at big sporting events, new years eve stuff, thanksgiving parades, presidential rallies...etc.

its pretty much the norm to prevent this kind of thing.

and the conspiracy theories start already.

looks like a guy watching the marathon finish on his roof, and maybe walking back to his apt to get a drink. and someone photoshopped it to look like the wicked witch of the west with the top of her pointy hat cut off.

Heard the marathon was run in honor of the Newtown victims and some of the parents/kids were sitting in the VIP section near where the blast went off. Unreal.

He and his school friends are all fine, he was in the medical tent at the time, but was about to go on break to take a picture of the national flags (we are Irish/Filipino and you can see the Philippines flag right by the first explosion), but the girl he was with was cold and wanted to go on her break to get a jacket from her car so she took her break first. I'm not really religious, but I do thank God or whatever cosmic force for that cold girl.

Told me that they did have emergency plans that all personnel had to go through in the case of a terrorist attack, probably why the loss of life was limited as people rushed to help instead of running away.

I'm probably more stressed out than he is, even in this age of information, it was killing me trying to get a hold of him for the past few hours.

glad to hear your brothers okay man. Musta been hard not knowing for awhile

I was at the marathon today watching from the finish line where the bombs went off. Regarding the person on the rooftop, if you walked down Newbury St before the bombing, which is the street parallel to Boylston St where the bombs went off, there where people on rooftops of building watching the marathon. I know this because some of them were throwing foam balls towards the people below. It's not unusually to see people on rooftops during the marathon.

Regarding the Newton victims, more than likely they were sitting in the bleachers across the street from where the first bomb went off. You need credentials to sit there and it's where the organizers place VIP spectators. If that's the case, they should hopefully all be safe.

The bombs went off well after the elite runners were done so there wasn't as many spectators as there was earlier in the race. It was a chilly day today, but sunny and there were still a lot of people cheering on the runners. The first bomb went off in front of Boston Marathon store which was a couple of yards before the finish line. The second bomb went off in front of Atlantic Fish which is a block from the first blast.

Still in shock about what happened and my thoughts go out to all involved in this tragedy.

"What would be the purpose of being on the roof anyways" That would be my first question too.

Rooftop is good for signal and coordination.

People hearing an explosion and going up on the roof to see what happened is weird to you? after that, There's two ways off a rooftop, you either jump or go back inside. This speculation is idiotic.

1st: the photo was taken right at the moment of the explosion. the guy was there long before that.

2nd: he was not trying to see anything except looking at his lower front and waking toward the open door in the right at the moment of explosion. Maybe its just coincidence.

obviously photoshop and just happens to be a silhouette of a hasidic jew. some people (whoever created that image) use any opportunity to hate on certain groups. makes me sick reading some comments on different boards. until the truth is known I'd rather not be pointing fingers at muslims, jews, tea party or whatever.
