Not surprised. It's not THAT they lost, but rather HOW they lost that cost Byron his job it appears.

Based on those comments I wonder if they really are considering bringing back Mike Brown - I assumed it was a joke when I heard that.

Disagree with the move. Unless they have a big-time coach ready to take over (which seems unrealistic).

The team was just not good enough, to reach higher in the standings. And when we finally had a bench, Kyrie went down again....

I like Scott, he's a good coach. And I don't see us getting a much better coach. I have very little trust in Grant but I hope they find a damn good replacement.

Really hope we won't go after Mike Brown. I like him, but his lack of offensive knowledge is obviously a problem.

I want Stan Van Gundy, Brian Shaw or Mike Malone to be our next coach. I think those three guys will be a good fit for us.

I'm really excited for next year... Scott was DECENT, but he's not a good defensive coach, nor does he have any set rotations... also, his ability to adjust on the fly was equally as bad. I'm very excited to have 2 more high draft picks, and a new coach incoming next year. We need a coach that demands respect, and actually deserves it too.

I think Byron is a good coach, but the FO obviously thought he wasn't the right guy. He did come here without knowing whether the job was to help get the team to the next level, or if it was going to be a complete rebuild. He gave this team credibility when it desperately needed it, so for that alone I want to say thanks and good luck to Byron.
I think M Brown is a decent coach, but his offense was so pathetic I just cant bring myself to think about having to watch that again. I would rather bring back Fratelloball than watch a Brown coached team again. I cant say who I think should be the next coach at this point though, I hope it isn't some unproven assistant who is a M Brown clone.

a couple months ago this would have bothered me, but recent games made me apathetic

I was pretty annoyed with him and how he didn't really improve team defense or even offense at all in his time but do you guys think he was put in a bad position by management? The way he rotated player seemed an awful lot like he was trying to lose games.

And if we sign Mike Brown our defense will be better, but the rotation and in-game adjustments get 10 times worse.

Is this what people wanted, to get rid of Scott and have Mike Brown be leading candidate? jesus christ

Not me... I am a bit nauseous at the thought of Mike Brown coaching this team... At least Byron HAD an offensive game plan. I will be disgusted if we see "Give the ball to Kyrie or Dion and hope they score" offense again... And it wouldn't bode well for keeping our young core together long term. At most, get him as a defensive coordinator. And this wiretap is **** embarassing "Cavs concerned about competition on hiring Mike Brown' so they want to act quickly" This is really taking the wind out of my sails on the future... Byron sucked but our TEAM sucked. I wanted to see what he could do with an actual legit starting 3/5 playing with a developed Irving/Waiters/Thompson core... If we get back Kuester too, it will be just a disgrace. The guy who lost the lotto bound Detroit Pistons trust combined with the guy who made Bynum and Kobe visibly disgusted by his coaching/leadership to lead our young team that needs a guy who demands respect? This really sucks. Our defense will improve marginally, but our offense will likely take a huge hit, so any improvment on D will likely be negligible. I hope I'm just overreacting, but I cannot imagine this being a good idea long term. We need stability, a coach that can ADJUST ON THE FLY (Brown AND Byron suck in this area), and leadership/respect. Brown doesn't strike me as any of those, plus just one look at Kobe's usage rate early in the year should tell you about how he would use Kyrie. annnnnd end rant, sorry for the extremely opinionated wall of text.
