Foot problems begin...

That would't dissuade me from selecting him.

Heck, Noel will miss significant time as well......

I'd worry more about ankle and foot issues than a knee. Big Z's career got derailed because he had foot issues.

Also consider this: he won't be able to do any drills, workouts, combine, etc because of this. All he has to go by his is game tape from this past season which was inconsistent. Noel at least showed you something/flashes of potential.

In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in the lottery and a team like OKC picked him up. Draft him and stash him for half a year. But also wouldn't be surprised if he fell out of the lottery either. Wizards or a similar team won't take that risk.

Just saw the tweet by Woj, nice pickup Rafael

I'd agree about stress fractures for big men being more concerning than ACL's, especially during a college campaign because of how less physically demanding the college game is in comparison to the NBA in terms of both intensity of play and length of schedule.

If you're body has trouble holding up during the college season, maintaining health through an NBA season is going to be challenging.

And he's going to miss a training camp, off-season workouts, summer league, and the combine. A lot of guys try to gain a lot of weight and get stronger for the league, and he won't be able to build up his lower body much with that injury.

Pretty terrible.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!

Stay away, stay far away from Len. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him return to college.

He can't. He'll remain in the draft.

Better a knee than an ankle, but better an ankle than a foot. Him slipping to the Thunder at 12 is probably as low as he'll go.

No point drafting another big if they not moving Nene/Oka/KS/jV/Single/booker/and a few others. The wizards are already loaded with bigs.

Need a key big player. Also a backup shooting guard/point guard or backup shooting guard / SF.

Hey I take a decent Shooting Forward/PF.... Oh well.

That's awesome news, now he might slip to us. He was a year away from being a quality starter anyways and it fits perfectly with the Okafor timeline.

Yeah. I'm thinking anybody in the 5-7 range who is looking for a big will now take Zeller or Olynyk ahead of Len. Len falls to us at #8.

when it comes to olynyk it's been mentioned he was playing behind sacre and judged for that..fine, but that player is completely different from the one there now, During his red shirt year he transformed his body and his play..he was playing against the team as a scout player mimicking the oponents offense and his greatness comes from his innate ability to improvise. They saw this season coming as far as his performance.

another to look out for is Ricky ledo. They thought he had a chance at big east player of the year next year. Scouts watched him a lot during practice and despite not playing declared. Now i found out cleveland has promised to pick him up at worse beginning of second round

I think he signed with an agent already. He could withdraw but he can't go back to school.

After watching the Draft xpress youtube scouting reports on the top lottery options, this guy (and Noel) were the only two that really stood out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWFZ_iNgRDY

cleveland is picking before us..they have 31st and 33rd pick and i think four draft picks total including 19th and a top 3. they may trade for aldridge and us the other on him. Some poster knows his family and apparently clevelands given him a promise so worst he'll do is before our second rounder happens

someone once said some guys can shoot, some have handles..the few that have both can be superstars..not saying he's a superstar but he can have both tools

Dark Faze wrote:The Robert Sacre comments are kind of ignorant also--I watched him in summer league for the Lakers and he was good. He managed to get minutes for the Lakers and made the team despite them almost never paying rooks any mind. His advanced stats were prety awesome, over 23 PER with an ORTG of 117, so the stats agree with Sacre being pretty good. I actually wouldn't mind the Wiz trading for him.

Wow, do I feel dumb now. Sacre Looked pretty good in Summer League with a college PER of 24, huh? And I was worried about Olynyk barely playing for two years before a redshirt junior year? Egg-on-my-face.

Look, the bigger picture is that KO didn't establish himself until what was effectively a senior season. There's no way that there's a discussion of him as a draft prospect without that being thrown in. Does it mean he's a disaster or doomed as a prospect or a bad pick for us? No, but it it most certainly needs to be addressed and there needs to be a reason why he can be simultaneously a difference maker in the NBA and a guy who only broke out in his last year at Gonzaga.

Dark Faze wrote:Besides that Olynyk gained 2 inches and 30 pounds his redshirt year which made him a different player.

I don't really know what the story is, but his DX profile is suggesting that he toned up more than gained weight.

DX wrote:The maturing Olynyk did away from the floor is evident on first glance. Redistributing the 240-pounds on his 7'0 frame and having significantly improved his conditioning, the once somewhat soft, gangly, oversized stretch-four now looks the part of a NBA center. He has gotten noticeably stronger, especially in his upper body, and while he still lacks great explosiveness, his bulked up frame hasn't had a negative impact on his excellent mobility.
