I say Sacramento wins it.

Are the Cavs bringing in Dan Gilbert's kid again?
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

I have a feeling the Bobcats will win it and we will get the 3rd pick for the 2nd year in a row.

Ha ha, that was fun to read. I don't believe that the lottery is fixed, but it is fun to pretend that it is :-)

Sacramento or Orlando make sense as the winners. Sacramento for the new ownership, Orlando as compensation for losing Dwight Howard.

Stern is prolly pissed at the Kings for staying in Sacromento if anything. He'll prolly get two teams to jump em just to shaft em hard as possible.

We're picking 3rd.

Hard to predict how the fix will be in during years with no can't miss players. All we can be sure about is if Dwight leaves LA this summer and the Lakers end up in the lottery next year, Andrew Wiggins WILL be a Laker.

I could see Philly winning it too. The fanbase is going nuts over the Andrew Bynum embarrassment. Maybe they win this lottery, let Bynum walk, and turn over a new leaf?

At LEAST top 3 next year. Honestly best case scenario for the rest of the league is that the lakers act like idiots and sign Milsap and become a treadmill team if howard leaves and ruin their lottery chances.

You say this now, but watch, the picks that go just before us will end up being good players while we get stuck with a total stiff.

If we pick 9th, then pick 8 will be an All Star.

I agree. I ran the draft simulator one time and the Wizards got Porter at #2. I don't have my tinfoil hat handy, so I don't have any overall predictions for the winner.

As will pick 10.

The combination of having low chances and the draft looking pretty diamondy (nothing in the top, but more depth in the middle in terms of talent) makes me care really little about the lotto this year.

Gotta say I don't understand the reluctance to pick 1 or 2. Not only can you pick whatever player you want, it also opens up lots of trade down scenarios.

Seems to me that being scared of getting the top pick is because of the media backlash that would come if you missed on the pick. That shouldn't be of a concern to an organization, although I definitely would not put that past the Wizards. If you are confident in your ability to draft (not saying the Wizards should be), then you should always hope for the top pick.

i hope for a higher pick, but like i said we getting a big man, higher pick gives a higher leveraging.

so we getting number one pick because jason collins is gay..or getting the eight because again jason collins is gay. either way...

If we can swap a top 3 pick this year for a top 3 protected next year, would you?

If we can draft OP, I wouldn't pass on that for an at best 4th pick next year.

Do we really know about the depth of the draft next year?
Wiggins and Parker, then ? I honestly don't know. So I'm asking.

From all that I've read there seems to be much more blue chip recruits in 2014 than in any draft of recent memory and it has not just 1 but upwards of 6 "can't-miss" John Wall/OJ Mayo-type heir apparent HS players in it. Wiggins and Parker you've mentioned. There are twins - Andrew and Aaron Harrison that play guard, as well as a pair of PF's Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon that have 6'9 size and perimeter skills. In addition to that you've got guys who are still in school that would have been potential lotto players this year - Marcus Smart, Kyle Anderson, Glenn Robinson, Mitch McGary, as well as late-lotto/first round upperclassmen like McAdoo, McDermott, PJ Hairston and Patric Young.

It figures to be topheavy AND deep and having 2 first rounders next year rather than one this season and one next season will end up with more talent.

However, I am in love with Otto Porter as well. I just worry his video game shooting percentages are blinding me and he might now pan out any better than Derrick Williams - who not only had better shooting numbers, but also has a boatload more athleticism than OP does.
