Oh come on, he should get a prize from not dying from coaching Iverson, Carmel and JR Smith.

He has 3 very, very good bigs.
Playing time and rank for Denver’s big three, regular season:
Kenneth Faried – 28.1 MPG, 4th
Kosta Koufos – 22.4 MPG, 8th
JaVale McGee – 18.1 MPG, 9th
Playing time and rank for Denver’s big three, playoffs:
Kenneth Faried – 29.0 MPG, 4th
JaVale McGee – 18.7 MPG, 7th
Kosta Koufos – 16.7 MPG, 8th
Case closed.

Well, it might not be that he's bad, it might be that the Warriors are just very good right now.
I mean, they got the Spurs 2-2 right now. I don't even know how that was possible.

The Warriors should be up 3-1. I think it's their youth vs an aged Spurs team. That's why most of us preferred #7 seed to face the Spurs.

Since Oklahoma last year, father time has been more and more cruel to the spurs.
I just didn't want to admit tof myself that their run is probably over.

Re: The OT Thread
If you had asked me, I'd have never guessed this summary.
Pretty terrible stuff.
Pretty terrible stuff.
Let me take this time to remind you that Sam Presti is terrible at trades. Let’s walk through some highlights:
- Ray Allen and Big Baby for Jeff Green, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak. Big Loss
- Rashard Lewis to Orlando for cap space (basically). Neutral
- Tyson Chandler from the New Orleans Hornets for forward Chris Wilcox, forward Joe Smith and the draft rights to center DeVon Hardin. Huge Win until they canceled it and probably lost a title. Big Loss
- Traded Jeff Green and Nenad Kristic for Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson. If you’re keeping track, they traded the best three-point shooter in the game and a first ballot HOF in Ray Allen for Kendrick Perkins. Big Loss
- Traded James Harden to Houston for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first-round draft picks and a second-round draft pick. Waived Andy Rautins, Daniel Orton and Hollis Thompson. Let’s trade the best shooting guard in the NBA so we don’t have to amnesty Kendrick Perkins! Yay! Can you say sunk cost fallacy? Big Loss

Re: The OT Thread
Let me make some excuses
GMs have always been unfairly gauged by regular season success (more so than playoffs sometimes). I think if you hold pat your record but shave 10 million is a good move. I think if you manage to win more and save more money going forward, that would be excellent moves.
I'll let the Ray Allen/Big Baby to the celtics for Jeff Green and co go. We didn't know Delonte West was a headcase, and they didn't know Westbrook would be on the draft board. Jeff Green is a good get coming out of college. Further more, conventional wisdom at the time is that barring a few, most shooting guards on the wrong side of 30 is damaged goods. Nobody expected Allen to last this long.
Rashard Lewis for cap space was important. It was tanking, and we know it worked.
Jeff Green/Kristic for Perkins and Nate was a dumb idea in hindsight, but it was trumped by the media as a good move because gave more post defensive presence. Ibaka hadn't made the leap yet, and the league's preference for playing small at a high pace wasn't realized yet. In fact, the transitioning to small ball as main stream has been extremely abrupt, all things considered. Yeah it was a bad trade, but considering Green had a bad heart too and nearly didn't come back a year latter, that trade looked really good then.
Amnestying Kendrik Perkins would have worked, he was fools gold, as one often looks better playing with a good pass first point guard. That was really a bad move, but then again a championship team always had an enforcer... I'm not sure how to defend this one, but the rest of them looked okay at the time.

Re: The OT Thread
I'm going to retract from the Perkins comment myself. Perkins was good at the time. Who knew injuries would corpsify him?
I remember being in favor of the trade and saying good things about Presti for it.

i think at the time it wasnt a bad trade for okc. they weren't gonna get far in the west with green at pf. and ibaka undersized for 30mpg+ center. too bad perks is declining faster than everyone thought

Re: The OT Thread
Good news everybody, just spent the long weekend with my dream girl (she left this morning but I am still tipsy from screwdrivers with breakfast)
she seems to be into it as she's already saying she misses me and wants to come back
Sucks she lives in San Antonio and is a spurs fan but she is beautiful so I can try and weather that storm
