Rumor over at Hoopshype says a source tells them that Lakers Asst Darvin Ham will take a position as an Asst with Clifford for Charlotte.
Is he not more of a big man coach? Does this mean that Ewing is a no go? Anyone know more into on this matter?

Ewing will interview for the lead assistant coaching position tomorrow.

Thanks.
I'd love to have him here even if he doesn't want to just be a "big man's coach."

Re: Steve Clifford New Bobcats Coach
No matter what's his title of a coach I'm sure the big man in Ewing will never steer him far away from what he know. I'm perfectly fine with Ewing being our lead assistant coach. I think he'll take our offer tomorrow. He's only using Sacramento as leverage.

I like the part about not just wanting to be branded a big man's coach, Pat feels he has a lot to prove and by being our lead assistant will get him one step closer to both his and our goal.
Biyombo will be excited about now I imagine.

Man, Ewing as assistant coach and Jordan as owner. If your a fan of 90's basketball, you have to root for the Bobcats/Hornets.

seems like a no-brainer for us, hopefully Ewing feels the same way
and I don't care what he says, I want him locked away with Biz in the gym all summer

I think he means he is fine coaching big men but doesn't want to be known exclusively as one.

I love it. Particularly the line in the article saying, "It's Ewing's job for the taking". I get the feeling that a year from now, we're going to be talking about Biz and maybe even Mullens as legit starting big men in this league with room to grow into elite big men. Assuming both are still here and healthy, this next season is going to be like last year was for Kemba Walker.

Re: Steve Clifford New Bobcats Coach
If I'm Ewing I take the Bobcat's job for sure. He desperately wants to be a head coach and you know Clifford will get fired in a year or 2 so Ewing can set himself up to step in as an interim.

Re: Steve Clifford New Bobcats Coach
I thought Patrick Ewing's bluff would've been called, and he'd be accepting the job as lead assistant for Charlotte by now. I guess he's going to wait until after his interview with Sacramento to weigh his options

Or maybe they are negotiating and a deal gets done today? Never can tell.
