There is another sneaky old school gym in the Seminary on High Point. I think it's called Bishop's Palace or something now. Nothing like Edgewood, but still an old favorite of mine.

Noon ball ftw. I'm down to only Wednesdays but fighting to the last second before giving it up.

Looks like we've got 3 people interested in a RealGM pick up game in Madison. If we get two more I'll make an OT thread to see if we can get to full 5-on-5.

I'm pretty sure Jerrod will play if he reads the thread. Serge lives around here too and I've played with him. I just messaged Jerrod on Facebook so we'll see.

Had my first weigh in in about 3 weeks and have dropped to 163 pounds, 3 pounds off an arbitrary goal I set figuring 160 is where I needed to be to have reduced my gut to nothing. I don't think the final 3 pounds is going to do it. I am close but there's still some excess there I need to be rid of. Its now time to hit the abs hard I think since I might actually see them. Looking for good ab workouts, any suggestions?

Ab workouts will make the muscles bigger, but they won't do anything to reduce visceral fat. Visceral fat is different than subcutaneous fat. Subcutaneous fat sits on top of your skin, it's what jiggles. Visceral fat is around your internal organs and will make your gut stick out, no matter how big your ab muscles are.

Keep dropping weight and choose a full body exercise approach to lower your body fat percentage and you will see the gut shrink.

I also had an arbitrary goal of 165 (from 205) and that wasn't enough. I'm now at 150 and still have work to do. I'm trying to work on the body fat % while not cutting too much weight at this point.

I keep track of every single thing I eat through loseit.com. Here is a sample of my 'favorite foods' list from the last four weeks:

Spoiler:

Code: Select all

   Brita Filtered Water   86   0   0
   Juice, Lemon   33   1,158   35
   Whey Protein Isolate   28   3,675   131
   Banana, Medium, 7" - 7 7/8" Long   28   3,098   111
   Seaweed, Spirulina, Dried   28   568   20
   Pure Almond Milk Unsweetened   27   810   30
Nutrition, Creatine Monohydrate, Creatine Monohydrate, Micr   27   265   10
   Rhodiola Rosea   26   260   10
   Wasabi Green Peas   21   2,820   134
   Spice, Ginger Root, Slices, 1"   21   182   9
   Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar 5%   20   0   0
Thick Sliced Bacon Hickory Smoked   15   4,340   289
   Banana, Small, 6" to 6 7/8" Long   14   1,258   90
   Extra Virgin Coconut Oil   13   2,257   174
   Juice, V8 Vegetable, Low Sodium   13   925   71
   DHA   13   325   25
   Sauce, Chili, Hot   11   110   10
   Nuts, Macadamia, Whole, Dried   10   2,285   229
   Blueberries   10   457   46
   Salmon Fillet   9   1,386   154

A lot of the stuff higher in the list goes in my daily smoothie.

It doesn't look like the formatting took, so for reference, the #s are number of times eaten, total calories, avg calories.

Salmon is lower on the list than it usually is. I rotate between salmon and chicken breast usually for proteins. Love some Jerk Chicken. Also missing from the list is almonds and broccoli. They are both on a comeback in my diet.

Bullox, I love wasabi peas too... sadly they aren't the healthiest thing. I'd been thinking of getting some wasabi almonds instead.

Ever try those? They are pretty amazing.

I'm no longer trying to lose weight. I successfully lost 55 pounds and am 15 pounds below my goal weight. I wanted to maintain a decent macronutrient balance so as not to lose too much lean muscle while cutting. I'm open to suggestions though and in no way consider myself an expert, so if you see an issue with my diet feel free to chime in.

I have not tried Wasabi Almonds but that sounds right up my alley. I'll be on the lookout.

As for Sriracha peas, that sounds pretty good also. The "hot chili sauce" in my list is Sriracha. Love the stuff.
