"Interview" is a key word for this because I imagine it was all about salary, obviously he was our number one option for Lead assistant and I imagine he was interviewing us.

    OK Coach Cliff repeat after me:
.
1.I will not listen to MJ/Higgins when making draft picks. I WILL listen and agree with CHO who runs the SHOW.
2. Trading down for a player and 1st round pick in 2013 is ok. Not so in 2014.
3. BIZ is not Dwight. We need a center to start. Either draft or trade for one or trade 6275777 Our 4th pick plus Henderson/Mullens to Kings for Cousins/Douglas and their 7th pick? They draft Len at 4 to pair with Mullens and we draft Oladipo at 7. We then have solid 10 rotation
KW, Sessions,
Oladipo,Gordon,Douglas
MKG,JT
MCBob, Biz,TT
Cousins,Haywood

4. TT is trouble. Watch your back. Keep him and Gordon apart.
5.I must win 30 games or I will cease to exist. :dontknow:

If you think that Oladipo is falling to 7, then wow... If they wanted Len, they would just take him at 7, because there's no way in hell he's going to us at 4. When our FO puts out rumors that we like a player, it's always smokescreen. Last year it was Beal and Thomas Robinson. Never heard ANYTHING that we liked MKG the best, which it was clear we liked him so much we weren't willing to trade down to 4 in order to lose him. Same thing this year, don't think we take Len or Bennett or Oladipo. Too much noise on those fronts. Heard NOTHING about us liking Ben Mac, and I think we take him. Just my 0.02.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

:o :noway:  :argue: Check the mock drafts now after Chicago Combine Workouts. Yes I know that BR got us taking Bennet at 4 and Len going at 10,but DX express has us taking Len at 4 and Burke and McCollum are moving up on Oladipo who is at 5. Both should over take him dropping him to 7. If we trade for Cousins with the Kings, Oladipo could be still available at 7. If not we take Carter-Williams. I feel that Burke will be picked before Oladipo. :D

you might be overthinking the bluff thing IMO. taking the one player you don't talk about is hardly a bluff at all. since Cho came aboard the Bobcats are pretty tight-lipped, period. nobody heard them talk about MKG last year because everyone mentally slotted Thomas Robinson in at #2 and forgot about the whole franchise, which is what often happens and will continue to happen until the Bobcats carve out their own relevance.

Draftexpress praised Bismack before his draft. Givony even made a statement about him here on Draft(?) board (that they obviously never know how a player will pan out with all those variables that can affect players' careers but they are pretty confident in forecasting Bismack Biyombo). DX liked him, Cho picked him.

DX likes Len now. Cho... we'll see. Maybe it is not that far-fetched to think they value simillar things in certain players?

Really kinda disappointed we have not heard any news of Ewing coming on board since the meeting Wednesday. Makes me wonder if we are no in the ballpark with the money and he is interviewing with others now. Really thought MJ would get this done quickly.

I have a hard time believing two things here:

1) McCollum isn't going before Oladipo. He's arguably a top 10 pick, not much more.
2) If we trade for Cousins, there's very little chance we get the 7th pick with him.

Other than that, I agree- I ultimately think Trey Burke is going to be the best player in this draft, so I do seem him rising. In fact, I can see Orlando taking Burke at #2.

I'd love to find a way to get Jason Kidd as an assistant. Very smart defensively and would make a good assistant coach, someone the younger players can relate to.

If the Nets were rebuilding it'd be a no brainer but I really can't see the Nets (or any of the remaining teams) hiring Kidd because they want to win now. The Nets especially will go after a high profile coach like Karl.

Jason Kidd is probably one of the smartest NBA players around, I wouldn't be suprised if he landed a position at the Nets. Maybe not HC but surely an assistant.

Jason Kidd has amazing bbiq. don't think i'd want him as a coach, dont think he's mature enough or nonbball smart enough for it. wifebeater, just last year he's driving his car into lamp posts drunk etc.

an assistant coach maybe. i dont think a team should give him a head job right away

CHARLOTTE, NC—Bobcats owner Michael Jordan announced Wednesday that he has officially hired Patrick Ewing as the team’s assistant coach purely to watch the former New York Knicks center lose more. “I’m thrilled to add Patrick to the coaching staff, and I am very happy to once again be the person responsible for Patrick losing game after game after game,” said Jordan, adding that much like their heated rivalry in the 1990s, Jordan will have a front row seat to watch Ewing consistently fail on the basketball court. “I’m incredibly confident that with our roster of players, and under the tutelage of our head coach, Steve Clifford, Patrick will be frustrated, upset, and constantly question whether or not his team is good enough to reach the playoffs, let alone win an NBA Title. Putting him through that kind psychological torment again couldn’t excite me more.” Sources later confirmed Jordan was also in negotiations to bring on former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Craig Ehlo so that he could “make that guy’s life a living hell all over again too.”

This was discussed in the Ewing thread and I find it hilarious.
