What do you hate most about Cubs fans?
There are many many possible responses to the question. I'll start it off. I hate them for the same reason I hated Red Sox fans for the longest time, and that is they make up excuses for why its damn near a century in between their championships. Most Brewer fans can admit that the team has just been trash for the last 15 years, while Cubs and Red Sox fans make up stupid curses and use one of their own fellow fans as a scapegoat for their team being choke artists. Everyone else, fire away.
P.S. It would be sweet if we could turn this into a Cubs and city of Chicago bashing thread. Hell, even the state of Illinois can be thrown into the mix.

Some Cubs fans are okay it's just the annoying, drunk bastards that go out of the way to trash the Brewers like somehow Cubs fans have earned the right to talk.

Dude, no one actually thinks a goat is stopping us from winning. The "curse" is the long line of inept Cubs manangement and the general incompetence of the organization. That's why we haven't won.
No the reason why you guys havent won anything is because you are the cubs....It is just not going to happen THere the Cubs....When someone says the word cubs The first thing that pops in my mind is Loser.
Red Sox fans didn't make up the curse. Dan Shaughnessy did.
Maybe you didnt direclty make it up but you were still blaming it.

No. The media was. No self-respecting Red Sox fan ever mentioned the curse because it was nothing more than the fictionalized musings of a hack writer. It was something that Shaughnessey created to sell books and it was picked up by the mainstream media. Because the media is made up of morons that like to get all poetical about baseball instead of doing things like actually putting together smart pieces.

I have figured this whole thing out...
The reason a lot of Brewers fans hate the Cubs (or just the Cubs fans) is simple. The Cubs have a lot of fans, due to WGN and being around forever. There are bound to have tons of terrible fans. A good majority of the Cubs "fans" that go to Wrigley are only there for the ambiance. They go because it's the thing to do, so when their baseball intelligence is questioned, they come out looking like idiots, ie throwing crap all over the field for no apparent reason.
The Cubs "fans" that come to Miller Park are coming because they are A. Too poor to afford tickets to Wrigley or B. Are from Wisconsin.
In the case of B. those are the worst fans. The are Cubs fans for no other reason than they saw them on TV as a kid all the time and chances are they no longer follow the team, these are the types that come to Miller Park and wonder where Sammy Sosa is, don't know the Brewers are in the same division, and just assume the Cubs have a better team and they want to let it be known by being as obnoxious as can be. The way to spot these types is to simply ask them to recite the standings when they scream Brewers suck. After they are put in their place they usually stay quiet.
In the case of A. These are the types that come to Wisconsin every chance they get (Lake Geneva, WI Dells, farther up north for fishing, hunting etc) but will be in a hurry to tell u they are glad they don't live in WI. These types are VERY insecure and extremely easy to embarrass.
It's impossible for a Brewers fan not to hate Cubs fans when these are the only types we come in contact with.

Forgot to add that the only place you will find a good, intelligent, non-obnoxious Cubs fan is on message boards. The ones Brewers fan see at Miller Park and Wrigley probably haven't even discovered internet yet.
ok now /thread.

Quoted for truth. Point B is my main issue with Cubs fans. People who root for the Cubs "just because". Then they act obnoxious besides even though their team spent 300M and is still a joke.
If you're from Wisconsin, you're either a Brewer fan or you're a fairweather fan, plain and simple. I don't care where your daddy or mommy was from, or that the Cubs were on TV when you were a kiddie, support your hometown team.
That's why I'm always puzzled by people who root for the Cubs and the Packers, or the Bears and the Brewers, or any combination. How is that humanly possible?

So what, they are cheering for their team. There is nothing wrong about that.
Now if they were swearing at you and throwing things at you, then we have a problem.

Well said.

I can see people liking the Bears over the Packers. Some people that live in southeastern Wisconsin can't get to games in Green bay. I was raised on being taken to Bucks and Brewer games. I have never been to a Packers game, and they are my least favorite team in Wisconsin probably from a direct result of that.
