according to ESPN.com's Chad Ford, when it comes to teams who rely heavily on measurable situations and theoretical numbers, Burke's on the decline in favor of ex-Syracuse star Michael Carter-Williams for the distinction of the NBA draft's top point guard.

"Sources say a number of teams that rely heavily on analytics have Carter-Williams rated higher than Burke," Ford wrote. "While both players look good in the various analytical approaches teams employ, Carter-Williams is coming up at No. 1 and No. 2 overall on several teams' reports. For teams that value analytics, that's a big deal.

"Finally, teams are always looking for upside in the lottery. Carter-Williams has extraordinary size for his position. He is a terrific athlete. He sees the floor as well as any point guard in the draft. His weaknesses -- primarily his shaky jumper -- are the only thing holding him back from being a top-5 pick right now."

Oyyyy.

Teams that rely heavily on analytics? Sounds like he's talking about us.

He does that on a nightly basis :D

When you average 3 blocks as a freshman & as a sophomore, you don't have just "ONE GOOD BLOCK"

Teams with analytics favoring MCW as the best PG in the draft lends more credence to mocks that have us choosing between Oladipo and McLemore.

I'll cry if Orlando takes Zeller with any pick....that includes the last pick of the 2nd round. I can't stand Zeller

I still find DJ Stephens Max Vert Reach absolutely incredible.

Shaq had the record at 12' 5"....Shaq checked in at what 7' 1"?

DJ now has the record at 12' 5.5"....& he stands at 6'5.5" WITH SHOES!!! haha seriously just ridiculous.

Globetrotters need to sign him up for sure.

I don't think thats UNT..their arena is actually semi-legit lol.

Tony Mitchell has me so torn.. on one hand I feel like he is one of the riskier prospects in the draft and probably has the best chance of panning out on a veteran team with a strong culture (a la Stephenson on the Pacers). But on the other hand I'm not sure I'd want to miss the boat on him because if he DOES pan out he is exactly what we need next to Vuc.

So many super athletic bigs never pan out because of their motor/approach to the game.. hopefully he can get his head right in the NBA

I really like Mitchell but I feel like we can get a very similar player in Thomas Robinson from Houston for a TPE and future 2nd rounder.

I don't really want to get our PF from the draft this year. I'd rather us go McLemore and then the PG we like that can groom behind Jameer this year and then be ready to take the reigns in 2014.

Jameer Nelson/MCW
Ben McLemore/Harkless
Harkless/Harris
Harris/BBD
Vucci/Oquinn

I feel like Larkin and Schroeder could be good, no knock on them. But the idea of a Penny type player really makes me warm up to MCW>

We don't need him to come out firing either so he won't have a enormous amount of pressure on him like Burke will if he goes to NO or the Kings. His shot is pretty damn smooth regardless of it not going in so I wouldn't rule out his ability to improve that jumper.

MCW
McLemore
Harris
Randle
Vucevic
6th Man-Harkless

Or

MCW
McLemore
Wiggins
(Deal Harris or Harkless for a top 20 pick) Chris Walker
Vucevic

I just feel like the PF slot in this draft is so weak :/

His advanced stats (per36 or per40) numbers (blocks and rebounds) are what I find even more insane!

Sources: Dennis Schroeder Has Struggled In Workouts

Dennis Schroeder has returned to Germany after working out for the Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

Sources say Schroeder's workouts haven't gone very well, with him struggling against more physical defense.

"He looked frustrated," one NBA scout said of Schroeder's workout with his team. "His body language wasn't great. He's a very good talent and I wouldn't read too much into the workout, but it didn't really help him."

Via Chad Ford/ESPN

this isnt too surprising to me and I dont think it will change his draft position all that much.. Schroeder is a definite project, I don't think the team that drafts him will expect him to produce now. Which is why I think he is a good pick for us if we can acquire another pick. We have a good leader at PG who is still producing (10th in NBA in APG), I don't think we need a PG that is NBA-ready and can step in right away.

Not sure Robinson could bring anything near what Mitchell can on defense. He couldn't even average a block a game at Kansas.

Not the biggest fan of Robinsons, but I guess I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him though if he came cheap.

They are not close to similar players. The only similarity is the body size and frame.

he's garnered a lot of interest after the first day of the EuroCamp....showing improved maturity and focus...which were some of his bigger knocks. If he continues to mature....mentally and physically he would definitely curve potential in the NBA.

Lol....i just wanna see Mitchell throwing down lobs and tossing shots into the first row next to "Flat footed" Vucevic.

 I bet, might have to go look those up.

His wingspan & athleticism could def cause problems on the defensive end, but his offense from what I saw this season.... :o not the prettiest.

From what I have read on Mitchell, he is at his absolute best when he is cutting in the lanes & active around the paint. Which he was pretty much the entire season his freshman year.

I said it a couple times already, but when he compares himself to Faried & you sit there & watch him play (when locked in) & he blows Faried out of the water. Not nearly as raw on the offensive end & IMO his defense is much better (when locked in) than Farieds. Faried is just ALL HUSTLE ALL THE TIME.

Now can Mitchell show that he has that kind of motor in him? That's obviously up to him, but from watching all these interviews leading up to the draft he is saying everything right & seems really sincere in doing so. When I just heard him say he has Shawn Marion in his game that just blew me away. Because he really does. Marion has always been one of the most underrated players, especially on defense. Can defend 2-4 effectively. Mitchell has that same kind of ability.

Now he doesn't have to prove that he has the EXACT same kind of motor as a guy like Faried, because his basketball "skills" are much better, but he does have to prove that he is willing to bust his ass every single game, & if he does do that I would honestly take him as high as the Mavs pick if we were able to swing a deal for it.

You usually get all excited when a guy says..."Oh I model my game after *Insert Superstar*."

but hearing a guy say he wants to play like Faried/Marion def gets me excited. Him next to Vuc = 8-) 8-) 8-) .

What kind of offensive games does Mitchell have going for him besides Josh Smith-esque throwdowns? lol

Haven't looked much into his last season besides reading that his numbers went down because of a coaching change?
