Have you ever done a B-a-T before? Just want to make sure you plan on being active. This is a long and potentially really fun game...as long as every participates. I just hesitate when I see the post count and you didn't really follow instructions when trying to get a team. Not trying to be a dick, just want the best for this game/league.

Understood, yes I have played before and understand how important it is for people to participate. Besides, everytime I see one of these begin to blow up is usually posters who have a high post count. I didn't give you the a, b, c selection because I see there are plenty of teams left and the Pelicans aren't really that popular for people so I doubt that it would be a problem to acquire them.
Also, most people aren't really following your posting instructions... Not trying to be a dick

Recognized some issues with the Knicks B-a-T...I better defined the coaching pool.

A lot of the guys on the Knicks board have said they plan on signing up once theirs has concluded...which is close. I delayed it for a while because we were getting very little response from our actual board members...so the best option was to wait it out until we could get some truly active people. They are trickling over right now, but once they finish, a bunch should come on over.

Teams: Seattle/OKC, GSW, Magic
contact info: goducks93@gmail.com
questions: would it be possible to email league owner or some sort of committee of people a pick if during our possible draft slot we are unable to be online(like work)? like let's say i am 2 or 3 picks away but may not be online for a period of time, could i email a list of 2 or 3 picks, in order to the owner/committee/etc this ensures the pick is made, and it is done quickly and others don't have to wait to make theirs

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

You got it...but do you prefer being the Seattle Sonics or OKC Thunder?
As far as lists...that is a must for this thing to move as quickly as all of us would like. Even if you think you WILL be around...I still highly advise sending a list a couple picks out. I would suggest sending the list to myself &/or the two people after your pick.

I have one question about longevity? IF I draft some guy who is playing today but seems to be able to play every game and almost never misses games, can I assume he can have great longevity or is he going to be only judged by the games he has played?

Everything is judged 1-10, being the highest. If a category is a x2, that just means whatever your 1-10 score is gets doubled.
As for the specific categories...
-Team Chemistry: Obviously we can't tell 100% for sure how these guys would play together but you should be looking to create a style of play. Whether it is fast paced, defensive minded, outside shooting, etc...your team should have an identity based on the players on the roster. Your coach should also reflect your style of play.
-Longevity: Here you are looking for how long a player's prime lasted and what they accomplished in that prime. If a guy had a crazy good four years but then fell off because of injury or just inconsistencies...that could count against you. The idea is to build a team that contends but also has a long shelf life. Not a squad of five studs who only has 3-4 year primes.
-Intangibles: Players that have the little something that doesn't show up on stat sheets, incredible passion, high energy, determination to win/refusal to lose. Basically the line that gets drawn between a guy who just makes a few All-Star teams in his career with some nice numbers and a guy that does the same but has a distinct imprint on the title that his real life team won.

Good question.
Durability does go along with longevity. If you were to go for an All-Star in today's era that has been known to get banged up and miss games, you may be better off going with a guy that is an iron man. Keep in mind, this is all subjective and you will be judged by many people. Opinions will vary but since we cannot judge a player currently in the game's ability to have a long career...we have to base it off of injury history & age. If a guy has been in the league for 7 years already and just makes his first All-Star appearance...even if he is an iron man, you aren't assuming he will play another 10 years at that level..just because it is his first all-star game and best year. A guy like that is much more likely to have a short prime.
Judging today's players is definitely a more opinionated aspect of judgement than the rest of it.

seattle for sure.
ive been in sim leagues before, and people making lists always helps make the draft run smoother, nothing worse than waiting for your pick and end up waiting 10 hours b/c they cant be online

In regards to sending out our pick lists to gms picking after us. Wouldn't that possibly create a situation where a gm finds out his target is being taken right before him and then is tempted to trade up? Unless I missed reading something in the rules...

Just send it to me...I won't do anything shady like that, it would make the entire thing pointless.
