If we can get a top 5 pick, I wouldn't pick up Bennett. I'd try to get Burke in here! Not that I don't like Bennett, but at this point a lot of people not sure whether he's a 3 or a 4.

Bargnani for Hayes + ?

We can try Thornton but most likely take Salmons who is expiring. Hayes fits nicely into our lineup.

I like Hayes as a potential clubhouse leader, but I would ask to pry away Fredette as a back-up PG for us. I think he will be a great bench scorer for us.

I wonder if we could get WAS's 3rd overall pick, and take Victor Oladipo if he's still on the board.

Looks like Brooks, Garcia and Delfino will all be FAs.

The Rockets have told agents for Francisco Garcia, Carlos Delfino and Aaron Brooks that they will not pickup contract options this month. That exception and veteran’s minimums could be used to shift to a much more experienced roster if the Rockets land a top free agent, a plan they apparently will make a significant part of their presentation.

Delfino would be awesome. We need shooting, although he can do more. Bring Swag back Masai.

Brooks is a great option for a backup point as well.

If only. LJ was awesome. Burke seems the better option for this team to me right now. Draft him and trade Lowry's very reasonable contract for another player or pick. Trade away a couple other guys and it's a tank roster ready to roll with young prospects getting heavy minutes.

Just only 10 days away from the Draft, I'm really hoping we can move Bargs on the night of to get in!

As this KG/Doc talk heats up there seems to be less and less talk of of Paul Pierce, who's owed 17 million next year and 15.3 the year after that. He's 35 years old but he's always played like an old vet. Where VC had to become a 3+D specialist this year, Pierce was still able to put up his regular 19ppg/5apg/6rpg on a TS% of .559 as one of the leading scorers on a team he helped lead to the playoffs.

Where do you think he'll end up? The possible trade suitors have to have a number of things going for them.

1) They have to have some assets that Boston would want at salaries that match.
2) They'd have to be in a position where they had somebody able to convince Pierce that they meant to contend with him on board (Just as KG and Ray Allen were convinced to join the Celtics)
3) They'd have to view him as the perfect fit for what they lack on their team in order to get it to the next level in the short-term while being willing to part with those assets in order to make a splash.

Would any retoolers out there be interested in a Bargnani/Kleiza for Paul Pierce deal if Tim could convince him we mean to contend for a couple years? He'd expire the same year as Rudy so if the gamble failed you could start a rebuild then in 2015.

PG - K. Lowry
SG - P. Pierce
SF - R. Gay
PF - A. Johnson
C - J. Valanciunas

Plus, you'd have either Demar or Ross to explore in a follow-up trade to push you even further into contention territory.

Don't think Paul has any interest coming here. I rather explore getting a guy like JJ Redick if we are shopping Demar around.

You're probably right. Tim's a great salesmen but even he'd have a tough time selling Pierce on the idea of finishing out his career here.

If he's healthy, what about Eric Gordon for Demar? He's a much better perimter shooter, so theoretically he's a better fit beside Rudy. Also, we can limit his minutes to ensure he's 100 percent for the 2014 season, which would help the tank along and increase the odds of it only being a 1 year tank. I know a lot of the non-tank crowd's main concern is we would suck for several years in a row, so this might be a decent way to begin a plan to limit the losing to 1 season. Just a thought.

1) DeMar DeRozan to DET for Rodney Stuckey & 8th overall pick

2) Toronto takes C Steven Adams 8th overall

3) Toronto trades the draft rights of C Steven Adams to OKC for G Reggie Jackson + 12th overall pick (originally belonged to us)

At 12, Toronto takes F Giannis Adetokunbo, who we proceed to stash overseas for a year.

Lowry/Jackson
Budinger (FA)/Ross
Gay/Fields
Robinson (trade)/Johnson
Valanciunas/Johnson

Boom.

From what I can tell, it looks like the bucks are trying to hang on to being a mediocre team. So we offer demar for ellis s&t and their 2014 draft pick, use Jennings and demars friendship as the selling point. Hope for a bucks implosion and get a lottery pick while we compete with Ellis as or 6th man.

And before anyone says that the bucks won't trade a unprotected draft pick, remember that these are the same guys that gave up assets like Tobias Harris for a rental to clinch the 8th spot.
