Of course, which is why it's not happening.

So what do we do with Mirotic? Trade his rights to Portland in the deal? Cause playing behind Taj and Aldridge isnt what we want Mirotic to be doing.

You should stop with the all-star argument.

Taj would be heading out..

Bulls are still after T-Rob

I believe Mirotic is going absolutely NOWHERE, nor would I want him to..

I'd rather trade Noah than Nikola...

This is where we enter the territory of seriously underrating Aldridge.

I agree, Alridge at the very least TAKES the shot. Noah isn't as capable (although he is vastly improved) at anywhere near the volume

when we have to stoop to comparing LMA's jumper to noah's it's low praise indeed

LMA has an average jumper. know who else has an average jumper? carlos boozer. carlos can get that jumper WHENEVER HE WANTS due to the high release and arc. i'm tired of seeing it with carlos and i don't wanna see it in another guy we bring in. and i don't care if another guy makes it look sexier. it's the same result. least efficient shot in basketball, and if you're gonna take it on a consistent basis you damn well better be really good at it. like al horford, chris bosh, etc. it's a short list of guys

at least boozer rebounds well

I stopped reading as soon as he said LaMarcus had an average jumper..

Dude is 6"11 with basically an UNBLOCKABLE shot

I would do Noah for LMA. And I do love Noah, a LOT. My main concern with Noah is his foot. I don't know if that's always going to be a problem. Staying healthy and on the floor accounts for something in this trade scenario. I think that tips the scales in LMA's favor for me, at least.

It's pretty hypocritical to criticize LaMarcus Aldridge for his efficiency but then somehow sing the praises of the less efficient Luol Deng.

In those five games, the Blazers are 4-1 against the Bulls. For whatever reason Thibs becomes Isiah Thomas against them.

well leaving LMA open every time he takes a midrange shot that he's basically automatic from is a big contributing factor...

Bosh vs. Bulls in Thibs era:

17/5
7/9
19/5
23/9
7/8
28/5
14/6
17/10
22/12
12/3
17/8
9/5
8/4
16/4
13/9
6/6
9/5
21/19
13/6
10/7

So yeah, a monster game here and there, but not very consistent. Lots of stinkers too. Seems like the scheme is working for Bosh, but not for Aldridge so much. :D

The scheme plays a part, but you still have to make the shots and score the points. It's not like Aldridge vs. the Bulls is just standing at the elbow shooting jumpers all day.

I don't see a scheme that's making him look good, I see a team that flat-out can't guard him. He's doing whatever he wants.

You should stop with the all-star argument.

Deng: 2x allstar
LMA: 2x allstar

LMA in the east is a all star every year. He's in the west playing against good bigs every night.

I doubt that gets it done. The best player in that group is Deng (very good) but that is the one place with the most duplication because of Batum except Batum is three years younger. Similar numbers except Batum gets significantly more assists, more blocks and is a much better shooter from 3-pt range. So that asset doesn't help Portland much and the rest isn't enough or in the case of the Charlotte pick, too far down the road.

That's the thing which sucks. If the Blazers didn't have Batum, Deng, Gibson and the Bobcats pick is a strong offer. The problem is Portland does. The thing to me is Deng is very good like you said, so he should be able to net Portland the additional pieces, at least you would think so.
