Only scenario I'd be willing to give up Noah for Aldridge is if we still had Asik. No deal.
Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

It's not bad, but it certainly doesn't come close to the #1/#19 centered offer that Cleveland proposed and were turned down for.

butler and the charlotte pick most certainly comes close to the #1 in this year's unexciting draft

Good post. This point is being overlooked.

LMA is essentially a "disgruntled" superstar that is taking control away from the FO. He can threaten the FO by refusing to re-sign with a team that they want to trade him to, ala Melo, Dwight, etc....

It will scare off some teams & box in the Portland FO to the point where they almost have to trade him to his preferred destination. Like Mort kinda pointed out, it puts the Bulls FO in the driver's seat as far as our offer.

But, it is always not one team. Look at Dwight even if he wanted Brooklyn and they had all kinds of packages, it didn't work out. The teams are smart that they ask the superstar for 2 or 3 options so they can negotiate with 3 teams and take the best package. The best way for the Bulls is to Dwight going to Houston and Dallas probably gets eliminated because of Dirk/LMA playing the same position.

Exactly my point.

Other teams are looking at the Lakers giving up assets for a player that didn't want to be there. As you know, we now have a thread about Dwight possibly not re-signing with the Lakers. Teams are not gonna give up assets for a rental.

Once you get LMA....Bulls could go after Greg Monroe with a close to max contract next summer

Would Detroit match our offer?

Rose
Sg
Butler
LMA
Monroe

Or spend the big money on a sg....Miami won't be able to guard those bigs though

he has been getting to the line quite a bit the past 3 seasons. i'll give him that. unlike boozer, who has mysteriously gone soft the past 2 years

He was starting to operate more out of the post in 2010-2011, which was his best year. He was very good from 3-9 feet, and at the rim, and kept his outside shooting relegated to the left wing, where he's OK. I thought he'd keep building on that, but he's regressed the past couple of years. He's started to attempt more shots from the outside, and they're all over the place now. You could say Stotts's offense had some influence on it, but in 2011-2012, LMA was doing more of the same under McMillan, even though McMillan was the one trying to get him setup under the post more.

I agree. A player with huge upside and a potential top 5 pick in a great draft.

GarPax don't want to cut into 2014 cap space unless it's for a star. Like Aldridge.

I don't see Aldridge + whoever we can find at center being better than Boozer + Noah. Some of you guys seem to be want to make a trade just to make a trade.

If they won't do it without Joakim then no deal. We can outwait them.

Nothing will be worse than the Kobe nontrade trade rumors... but I'm prepared to meltdown tonight when they pick someone from Europe and stash him away for 5 years.

Shots per game from 16 ft. and out in the last four years:

2009-10 - 5.5
2010-11 - 4.8
2011-12 - 5.7
2012-13 - 7.2

2010-2011 was his best year. McMillan was trying to get him in the post more. McMillan was still around in 2011-2012, and his offense didn't change to accommodate LMA on the outside more. Why would he do that? LMA was getting to the line more than he had, and was doing very well inside. To put it all on Stotts's offense doesn't tell the whole story, IMO.

How so? It's not unprotected until 2016 and that draft is too far away to project. 2014 is top-10 protected and 2015 is top-8 protected. Bulls honestly might not get that pick until 2016. I don't get why people are acting like it holds the value of a true #1 pick.

Jimmy Butler has to have a lot of value after what he did in the second half of the season and in the playoffs.

You need a Defensive anchor if Thibs is your coach. which is a major reason why you cant trade LMA for Noah and expect to be better.
