Why would Bogans turn down $3 mil extra? He hasn't made enough money to leave that much on the table to chase a ring.

Wait I thought the S&T was for the minimum?

Nope. Nets have some kind of rights to him, though I'm unclear why.

You guys want to trade the friggin core and start with NOTHING but draft picks that are at best 50-50 chances of being complete BUSTS? Holy crap..the amount of faith people put in draft picks is amazing. They would rather get those than proven talent.

I for one hope Rondo is our Wade, Humpries, Lee, Bass, Wallace are our cap space makers for LeBron and Bosh and the draft picks are our Dexter Pittmans and Norris Cole's. If we are banking on a 2018 pick to be good to help our franchise we are screeeeweddd.

Because we are going all in to suck so we have a real chance at Wiggins next year. That is all it could be. It could with us having Wallace on our team we will suck bad for the next 2 years at least.

How do we know Wiggins is great? He's a canadian player, and no one has ever seen him against real competition. Let's see him at Kansas first.

He's played in all the camps/aau and played in the Hoops Summit game twice he's well vetted in fact he played against better comp than Lebron at the same age

It made a lot of sense for them to call about KG but not much sense for them to want PP. The Warriors have a great backcourt so they don't really need PP scoring at all.

LOL get real. KG never asked for this. He would be doing the Celtics a favor.

Really? Taking on Gerald Wallace for 3 years at 10 mil is a favor? The Celtics could have done better than this deal. But KG not being willing to go to most teams is what's keeping us from maximizing what he can get for him.

Not true. Kg is not asking or demanding a trade and Allen left for nothing. Kg is being traded which is obviously a decision Ainge wants and feels will help this team rebuild. It would be a selfish move if kg refused.

Classy move by Celtics if this deal goes down and good for rebuilding.

Celtics will ALWAYS be my first love.

For the next 2 years, the Truth-Ticket Nets will temporarily get a piece of me.

Are you kidding me?

Nope, not in the slightest. Again, I don't hold it against either of them for going to rivals. If they're gonna leave the Celtics, I couldn't care less where they go. But the Nets and the Heat are both Rivals, and KG and Ray both willingly left to go to a rival. No matter how you try to spin it, it's the same thing.

At least when KG leaves, the team will have wanted him gone. We would have committed to a rebuild. It wouldn't be to our biggest rival; a team we had just gone out fighting against. He won't have betrayed anyone. He won't tarnish his legacy nearly as much as Ray. He won't be leaving his boys.

All I remember about Tornike is him getting left in the dust by Rondo.

we are stuck with that Wallace contract

I could see Ainge offering Wallace and a 1st round pick for a couple of 2nd round picks to a team and someone going for it.

So it gets worse?

Nice

Same here. I will suffer through Wallace just to see our young develop. But at least I will have a team to root for come playoff time.

Just wait until that Nets team fails and the mass burning of freshly purchased BKN gear begins. 8-)

It's funny but I actually think this trade is a win for Boston - win for NJ - win for KG/PP. NJ I really do think has a title shot next year and Boston accelerates their rebuild in a major way.

KG plus PP quite frankly I think is enough for Brooklyn --- if healthy -- to topple MIami. Deron Williams really has been a big time playoff performer on offense. KG solidifies their defense enough for them to hold down Miami enough to give the Nets offense a chance to beat them. Stopping a PP as the Celtics number 1 option is easy for Miami but as the 4th option on NJ he could be very efficient.

I predicted Miami would win the title in 7 this year...I wasn't super confident of that prediction... but its easy to see age is catching up to them.

Return to Boston Celtics
