While I agree with that, I think LA is at his peak which is a solid 18/9 player. I believe that we will get more production with an improving Demar and a consistent Amir let alone the draft pick.

I don't disagree but trading away players that are easily replaceable for a position we need seems to be good. I also like the idea of LA with Val because he stretches the floor with his shooting. DD could easily be replaced with a Tony Allen clone and that would actually be an upgrade. DD doesn't do anything extra. We replace DD's scoring and Amir's rebounding with Aldridge who does both.

I think a core of Rudy/Aldridge/Val with the hopes that we get Schroeder or Burke seems like a win win for this team without blowing it all up.

Very good point. I just seem to like both players and be interested in having that core of Val/LA/Gay/DeRozan/Schroeder. But I think we need to include him to get him here. Would be a great front court with Val and LA for sure.

“@WojYahooNBA: Becoming harder to map a scenario where UNLV's Anthony Bennett doesn't slide on board. He could leave Portland with choice at No. 10.”

so heres my plan..

Trade #1:

To TOR: JJ Berea + #9 (Anthony Bennett) + #52 (Myck Kabongo)
To MIN: Terrence Ross + Quincy Acy

Saves Minnesota 1.2 million right away and they ditch the extra year due to Berea.

Toronto grabs Bennett and Kabongo. Bennett would be a excellent fit next to Val and i like Kabongo to slowly develop behind Berea for a couple of years.

Trade #2 (post draft, July 1st):

To TOR: Ben Gordon + Brendan Haywood
To CHA: Andrea Bargnani + Aaron Gray

* TOR could add cash in this deal if its July 1st

I assume CHA takes Ben McLemore (Woj says the Magic are taking Oldapio and Washington goes Porter with Beal already there) to fit beside Walker & MKG. Bargnani would add scoring at the PF spot for them + they save money instantly. The Haywood/Gray swap saves them the extra 2,213,688 Haywood has on his deal. So the total money CHA would take on in this deal would be 7,477,187.

Toronto gets a 6th man scorer to come off the bench, cuts a year off Bargnanis deal. I also like the addition of Haywood. Hes a guy Casey coached and Casey mentioned a need for veteran toughness which Haywood brings. Hes a guy who could be a good mentor to Val & Bennett and be a great playoff guy with his experience.

OR (i like this better)

To TOR: Andris Biedrins + Brandon Rush
To GSW: Andrea Bargnani + Aaron Gray

This would balance GSWs team as they get a replacement for Landry and clear their glut of wings.

Toronto would get a great 3 point shooter in Rush who plays D and would be a good addition off the bench.

Next season:

Kyle Lowry / JJ Berea / Myck Kabongo
Demar Derozan / Ben Gordon
Rudy Gay / Landry Fields
Amir Johnson / Anthony Bennett
Jonas Valanciunas / Brendan Haywood

or

Next season:

Kyle Lowry / JJ Berea / Myck Kabongo
Demar Derozan / Brandon Rush
Rudy Gay / Landry Fields
Amir Johnson / Anthony Bennett
Jonas Valanciunas / Andris Biedrins

amnesty Kleiza, decline Lucas' TO and fill out the roster with minimum players and youll be below the luxury tax. I think that team is a playoff team next season and has room to grow as Bennett & Val develop.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

i just re-edited it. I do like the CHA option but i think i like my new GSW option better.

Kyle Lowry / JJ Berea / Myck Kabongo
Demar Derozan / Brandon Rush
Rudy Gay / Landry Fields
Amir Johnson / Anthony Bennett
Jonas Valanciunas / Andris Biedrins

Rush is a very good 3 point shooter and actually plays defense (Gordon doesnt). I think thats a pretty dangerous team, i agree with you though. Sign a vet big like Turiaf, Nazr, etc and youll be set.

better wing vs better big

I like Rush's length and I think fits better overall with the team Gordon can be deadly but is pretty small...especially with Berea and not great on D

I'm a fan of Haywood and think he could start if Val needs to time during the season. Who knows what happened to Bied, he was great early on but not sure you can count on anything at this point

If Rondo is out for an extended period of time next year, that could really work out in our favour if we're looking to aim high in next year's draft

Been wanting this. Sounds like Sac is trying to move up for McLemore, if they fail maybe we can do this. Maybe they do it anyway.

If we can walk away from this offseason having unloaded Bargnani, Gay, Fields and Kleiza...and having gotten younger and more talented at the same time...Ujiri will have earned his nickname of the "Masai-ah"

DeRozan to LAC for Butler, Bledsoe; Flip Butler to another team.

Trade for Thomas Robinson

Bledsoe
Ross
Gay
Johnson
Valanciunas

Still compete for the playoffs, with a greater upside as a team, as Bledsoe, Robinson, Ross, and Val continue to develop.

LAC:

Paul
DeRozan
Bullock
Griffin
Jordan

We could do the same trade, but with Rudy Gay going the other way instead.

Start with what we can manage now: Forget about Kabongo .. Seth Curry. Sign/Stash/Develop this young man. Do not hesitate. At minimum that's a worthy investment going forward regardless of what the draft has shown

Philadelphia is gearing up for an epic tank job. I'd love to kick the tires on Thaddeus Young, who has always been a favourite of mine.

Perhaps they would be interested in an offer of Ross + filler (Kleiza's contract would make the numbers work).

If that young is available then we should definitely go after him. Ross is my boy but I'd let him go for thad young

The good news is that a majority of the teams on the rise really need a solid perimeter threat.

The bad news is that there are still some on the free agency market.

Even so, not all the teams will be able to sign them, so if we can get one of the Cavs, pistons, or pelicans to absorb one of the wing contracts we might be able to take on Robinson and pair him with Val.

MU tried hard and failed, blame BC
MU overpaid Javal frea@#ing MC GEEEEEEE !!!!!! 40 mil bench player, blame BC
MU choose Alabi, blame BC

MU landed in Denver, and found already a team with 53 wins, rookie Ty Lawson, Carmelo contract, Nene and coach Carl. Not bad
MU left with 57 wins in a season and a league manager award while the team lost against Golden state, Wilson chucker Chandler, injured prone Gallinaro, Javal contract and yes finally props for Faried and Miller.

MU is a Genius, welcome in Dreamland, you have a free 3 years ticket,do as you like, we wont complain. Our contribution is just booing our players and eat all pizza pizza, so free agents will fight each other to come in TO.As usual.

We love MU
