I just wish Ainge threatens to back out of this deal unless Brooklyn takes Donny Marshall for their televised games. Watched him last night and he is awful.

They play for another team now, I hope they never win a game again.

Nothing can get me to root for the Nets.

So if they play the Heat you'd be rooting for Miami and Lebron?

I hope you're joking..
Good assessment:

It's sad to say, but you're right. Tanguay is an awful color commentator. What did he keep saying a couple years back? I think it was "Why not?" every single time a player hit a shot. That being said, get rid of Donny Marshall.

Nope, I will be hoping the game ends in a tie

That and his pathetic (and entirely unsuccessful) attempts to ingratiate himself with Tommy. Vaguely reminiscent of the Chris Farley Show interviews from SNL.

Would it have been allowable to get the rights to Plumlee or would that have violated the consecutive draft picks rule?

Listening to WEEI now. Holly was told by what I am guessing was an insider that after game 6 of the knicks PP and KG were so beat up they would not have been able to go against the pacers had they beat the knicks.

Cannot be overstated how much of a risk this is for the Nets either. Maybe KG and PP were tired from carrying the team but PP looks like he is done and KG is needs surgery, or already had it for all we know to remove bone spurs. This team does not win a title they are screwed for years and years.

Pretty stoked we got Brooks, even though he's a scrub we could spike his value up tremendously if he starts for us next season.

Tank Team
PG: Bradley / Crawford
SG: Brooks / Crawford
SF: Joseph
PF: Sullinger / Iverson
C: olynyk / Iverson

I think we beat the 76ers in terms of worse starting lineup, Brooks will get high ppg but his defense sucks so bad it will counter it and cost us games but raises up his value in return making it a win / win. Olynyk will probably be the highest scorer on the team if he plays 35mpg could raise his value up tremendously and he'll probably get rookie of the year if we make him 1st scoring option.

We're going to want to suck as much as possible because 75% of the league will be tanking next year. Only a few teams will actually be competing. We gotta hire a high school coach on top of this and trade rondo / green for picks preferably 2014 picks and attach the bad contracts with rondo because that's the only way to get rid of them.

None of this is happening, accept it and move on

That's interesting.. obviously Williams and Lopez will carry the scoring and rebounding loads, so they can slide into reduced roles. But this could be like the Knicks last season adding Jason Kidd and Rasheed Wallace, except paying them each 10-15 million a year and giving up three draft picks for that privilege..

So even the teams getting a top 4 seed is going to be tanking? You know 25% of 30 is 7.5, so if you're right, only 7 or 8 teams will be competing. Does that mean Miami will win 75 games? I mean, they only have to play hard on about 20 games. I'm sure they can go 13-7 in those.

All in all, I think it's great return. I was hoping for a run it back year, see PP retire in green, etc. But, 3 first round picks is amazing compensation for moving on. The only bad thing we got is Wallace - and he'll be movable next summer, possibly even in Feb.

We have a good combination of high-dollar contracts (Hump, Wallace, Bass, Lee) and sweeteners (picks, Bradley, etc) to work with for trades. And a good core to build around in Rondo, Green, Sully.

If Danny finds a player available that he really wants, he has assets to go get them. If not, we stay put for the year, develop the young guys and get 2 picks in the 2014 draft, and tons of flexibility in free agency (sign & trades not necessarily straight FA).
