I think they're going all in on the Wiggins sweepstakes to build around Lillard and #?

They may even trade Aldridge and retain Hickson, who knows?

Trading Aldridge will certainly signal they are headed that way, maybe we should just wait the protection out on the pick.

what do you think the rockets would be looking for in return for asik? veterans at a different position, cap space or picks?

They need cap space most of all ... but they can theoretically get that by waiving players. To trade Asik they are going to want other assets like picks or rights to guys overseas.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Their board says they want pure shooters. Ryan Anderson's name keeps coming up over there.

I would offer Sessions (to replace Lin or back up Rondo if they brought him in for Dwight) + Taylor + 2 second round picks.

I wouldn't even bother offering for Aşık, we don't need a C and it's a huge contract.

Yeah they want floor spacers for Dwight, although they already have Parsons and Harden.

Everyone seems to think they want pure capspace but I imagine that they want to build a contender consisting of Harden+Parsons+Dwight surrounded by a mixture of vets and role playing prospects, Morey is huge on flexibility.

We could probably offer them Haywood+Portland first which would save them 6m in cap and add an asset in the pick.

Howard and Haywood don't get along too well though so who knows.

I don't think Cho will trade the Portland pick unless we end up with the consensus best value but I imagine Taylor could be used in some type of deal.

Now if we could flip Aşık for more first round picks then I'd be all for it.

Houston was handing out money like candy, I guess they figured they may as well go big! :o

Planting a Redwood tree under the hoop would certainly give Zeller the green light to develop his outside shooting touch. And having Biyombo would help with matchups against more agile centers.

I find myself hoping for Asik now. He's not going to add wins but he could really help our front court mature and develop at a healthy pace.

I think Houston keeps Asik, as insurance if they do not land Dwight. Even if they do land him, Asik is a great backup big and lets be honest Dwight is not a picture of health.

Given, I would be interested if he became available, but I think he is a bit overrated and his contract is not that great. He will likely garner a higher bid than I would be willing to pay, especially by a team such as Boston, who has about 642 picks now.

We will see, but I do not like the odds of him actually landing here.

Asik only makes 8.3 a year. That's a good contract for big who can anchor a defense. I think HOU would want too much for him but I'd gladly welcome him if the price was right.

What if Houston gave T-Rob to the Blazers to allow them to move LMA which would raise the value of the POR pick owned by Charlotte they plan to obtain for Asik?

Gun to your head, do you give them the top 12 protected POR pick knowing that POR is going into a rebuild with Lillard, McCollum, Batum, Leonard and Robinson + whatever they go get for LMA?

His last year is $14,898,938, that is bad

Well that's not exactly true. I believe every year of his 3 year deal will count 8.3 against the cap. But he would be paid 5 mil, 5mil, 15 mil.

Agreed. They seem all but certain they'll land Dwight. I'm hoping they just straight up dump the dude on us. I'd send Haywood and JT back in a heartbeat, too.
