Multi-year deal.

It looks like Maynor wasn't in the plans.

Not a surprise after they picked McCollum. Good pickup by the Wiz.

Happy for him.

Well it's Washington, so idk. But it's nice to see he brought some of his value back up after the injury.

We need a pure point guard. I do not want McCollum to be a point guard for 15-20 minutes a night.

In fact, I might even want two PG's. I don't really want Barton as a 3rd stringer, and Blazer fans should be familiar with how bad a backup unit can be without a decent PG.

I want McCollum to be scoring for us. We need someone else to set guys up.

Agreed but I like Mcc as our third string PG or playing with Wes sometimes.

The only thing that made Maynor appear passable last season was the absolute horridness of Price and Smith.

I like Maynor. I'm glad he'll be able to play close to home on a long term deal.

I guess I am thinking on a depth chart, not so much in a minute distribution. If we have 3 players at each position, I might like to have two legit point guards behind Lillard. At the very least 1 though, even if McCollum technically see's more minutes there.

I liked Maynor but I think people are underestimating McCollum as a point guard.

He's going to have to show an A/T ratio significantly better than his college one...

Plus, his strength is scoring. Why detract from that?

yeah...I don't know that I underestimate McCollum as a PG. I sure do worry about it though...

Yeah, we all worried about Lillard too. I think it's natural to worry about one's play-making ability when they didn't have half-decent teammates and never shown that they really have that ability. I can guess by McCollum's intelligence, craftiness, and ball-handling, that he should be a decent PG, but I absolutely can't say for certain and will be a bit worried until he proves it like Lillard did.

Would like to see the Blazers pick up a vet PG that can be a stabilizing force but would be ok with 8-10 mpg. I think McC will play some lead guard depending on matchups/ momentum. Maybe they'll strike gold with a bargain bin younger guy like the Rockets did with Beverly last year.

I think I'd rather use our LLE on Kaman, Brand, etc a big guy. Then sign a vet point guard for the minimum but like it or not Lillard and McCollum is going to be our PG rotation barring injury

Best of luck to Maynor though. He was great at filling a need for us while he was here

this is what worries me. The reason Lillard was so good after the trade was he didn't have to focus on distributing and went to a scoring force, I don't think we can do that with CJ since he will undoubtly be worse than Maynor passing wise and court vision, I do see him as a scorer first and foremost.

I still say he is an upgrade from Maynor cause is better and will probably score 13ppg next year, but won't mesh with dame as well as Maynor did.

Any word on the financials? I'm willing to bet Washington overpaid quite a bit considering that Maynor signed so fast.

Confirming @MrMichaelLee story, Wizards agree 2 sign @EMaynor3. Looks like a 2-year deal for bi-annual exception, player option yr 2.
