Hes a bit more explosive then Amir. Amir might have a higher motor though.

It was made almost immediately after Sacto took McCallum. No 2-minute delay
Dumars wanted him badly. I',m not surprised by it at all.
I did notice that. It was an easy pick at that point in the draft. Especially with McCallum off the board.

Really? Withey will be a decent backup center at best. Think Scot Pollard. Mike has some potential, but I don't really see the upside in either. Theres a little bit of risk with Tony, but the reward is a lot higher...potentially.

He's a worse prospect than Amir-- who utterly dominated in high school and who's substantially taller--and he was pretty lame at North Texas. What we're hoping is that he was in some mental or physical funk, because he should have been crushing that competition (he posted 13/8 on 44% from the field, PER of 20). And even then he has to learn some new NBA skills and figure out how to play at that speed and against those athletes. There's a very large chance that he doesn't get there.
With Withey you're getting a guy with limited skills but little chance his basic skills don't carry over to the NBA. He's as good a shot blocker as any recent prospect, including guys like Noel and A Davis, he's a legit 7-footer, he rebounds adequately, and he knows and performs his role on offense well (lay ups, dunks, wide open mid range shots). His chance of becoming a solid rotation guy in the next three years is probably five times higher than Mitchell's. (Also I see what you mean about Withey being at Pollard's level as a back up but he should easily block twice the amount of shots Pollard did at his peak).
