If jack& Landry opt out and you miss on Dwight.

How's this look

Gsw - tpe
Mem - rush,picks

I could see gsw saying no to the picks
Or even rush for tpe alone.

So let me get this straight...... you're suggesting that the Warriors send you (Memphis) Rush, a 40% 3-point shooter on a cap-friendly contract, and a draft pick, simply for the opportunity of freeing up a roster spot and $4M of salary space with a trade exemption?

What possible logic is there to that?

As a guy who thinks it's possible for the Warriors to get Howard, I love how everybody is talking up Houston. Saw a quote today from Hakeem that basically said "You never know, but I think we have about an 85% chance of him signing here, and I think it's the best place for him."

The best thing our guys can do is to be quiet to the media. Let everybody talk up Houston.

And Jackson should call him this weekend and just check in. Tell him he prayed for him and hopes he's having a good peaceful time figuring out what he needs to do...... and if Mark can help in any way.

But stay out of the media. I think Houston is getting shot in the foot with everybody trying to pave the path there.

Houston has to be the favorite at this point.

Kobe's sales pitch "I'll continue to dominate the offense, you can cover for my not giving a damn on defense and take all the blame if we lose" seems likely to fail.

Dallas is an outside shot, but Howard+Dirk+Marion is $50M already, how do they make a team?

Atlanta doesn't seem in the running.

If GS could just sign Howard to join Curry/Thompson/Barnes/Lee they'd be the favorites, but the S&T mechanizations needed are likely to take GS out of the running (Howard won't be as eager to join a gutted team and the Warrior's shouldn't be real eager for that either).

I hope Dwight decides soon. Options for Dubs to acquire him without a Lakers S&T are drying up quickly, Charlotte and Cleveland spending money today (Jefferson, Clark). I would really prefer to give the Lakers nothing if he decides GS is the place he wants to be. Granted, S&T is the more likely scenario, but would be nice to have options if Lakers try to play hardball.

To free up cap space for Landry & jack by trading an injured rush.
Like I said I don't know the gsw cap situation.
If they value Landry, jack more than rush why not do a trade like this?

This really only makes sense if you value Landry& jack over rush.
If they can be resigned with a trade it also makes this pointless

Is it possible for G.S. to deal off Bogut, Jefferson, and Biedrins for TPEs?

Hell no, Bogut someone might take the other two are way too much money to pay for a first rounder.

I think the idea is to clear cap space to be able to sign Howard outright, without having to work a s&t with the Lakers? That's why I said earlier they had better hurry up, because the teams with massive cap available are starting to sign players, Jefferson in Charlotte and Clark in Cleveland just so far today.

It might have to be Draymond Green+2016 1st with Jefferson, 2014 1st+2018 1st for Biedrins.

I might give up 2 first round picks max, 3 is too much IMO. Think about that, Howard's contract would be over before the final pick is used, that's not good. So give up 2 picks (one each for Biedrins and RJeff). Then if necessary you have to add players. Maybe Green is one as you mention, the other might be Brandon Rush. That at least preserves all starters. If it takes more than that, it's probably not worth it, because in a S&T with the Lakers you'd probably be giving up one of Klay or Barnes, but possibly only one or no picks. While it'd be prefereable to avoid S&T with Lakers, at some point it might be the better option if it gets too onerous to dump our bad (but expiring) contracts.

As a Milwaukee fan, we'll take Barnes + Bogut + Biedrins or whatever bad contracts that don't involve David Lee. MIL has tons of cap space, a hole at sg/sf, and MIL needs to spend a lot to get above the salary floor (and we dont want it going to Mayo/Jennings)

No there's a 3 mil limit cash per season.

No there's a 3 mil limit cash per season.

Still, that would help blunt the pain a bit. Combined with a draft pick that might be enough to get someone to bite.

IMO teams value picks enough now that the 2014 1st might move Jefferson or Biedrins alone. Moving the other is a problem as teams won't want to wait for 2016 (and there's not as much lusting after the 2016 draft). Even then, I'm queasy about moving even 2 future 1sts, much less the extras GS would likely have to add.

Cleveland is trying to compete this year, but also retain the ability to go after Lebron next year. I'd offer them Bogut for a pick (say, 2015 #1).

Philly is trying to tank and has massive cap space. I'd offer them $3M, our 2014 #1, our 2015 #2, and the pick we got from Cleveland in the Bogut deal if they will absorb Jefferson and Biedrins. That's 3 picks, and guys who will be able to contribute heavily to their ability to suck this year.

We'd also have to renounce Jack and Landry - meaning we couldn't re-sign either of them this summer no matter what. Even though our salary commitments would be reduced with the trades, the cap holds from Jack and Landry would limit us from offering the max to Howard, so we'd have to renounce them. That is another potentially large consequence if we try doing this salary dump, because it writes those 2 guys off from being re-signed.

I don't think you need to add a pick with Bogut.
