Probably something that we've always known all along, but I thought since it's pretty recent that it's post-worthy.

If JR Smith can get 4 years, $25 million from the Knicks, how the hell can we justify giving Nate the minimum after the season he just had? I'd love to have him here but honestly he deserves to get paid and get more minutes.

I have a feeling that if this Tyreke Evans S&T goes through, New Orleans will come calling with a nice offer.

Yup. Wish we offered him the mmle right out of the gate. Not giving it our best shot is disappointing, and if you're Nate, I'd feel at least a little insulted

They would have Rivers, Gordon and Evans in the back court. I couldn't see them offering more than the vet minimum either. And wouldn't our vet minimum be higher with the 20% raise?

It'd be amazing if we could keep Nate. I think he should've been the priority over Dunleavy, but it won't matter if we end up with both players.

Unfortunately, that has about the same likelihood as Nate's epic tear vs the Nets.

Yes, we can offer more than the minimum with the 120% raise of $1,519,172, which is (obviously) more than the minimum that any other team offers.

And yes, Nate deserved the MMLE, not Dorkleavy. I'd take Nate in a heartbeat over Dorkleavy's unathletic ass.

Nate will be a Bull. He's practically begging the Bulls to keep him. Just tell Derrick to slip him a couple mill under the table.

Dunleavy had multiple teams making offers including the MLE. Nate hasn't had anything but a vet min offer..

He''ll sit on the bench mostly but then some point in the year Kirk will go down (maybe even Rose a bit) and we'll remember, hey, this guy is pretty decent fill in.

Get er done.

Lol seriously. I know this would be incredibly illegal but couldnt reinsdorf give him a couple mil on the side to avoid cap restrictions? Or if Derrick promised him an Adidas shoe deal? I wouldnt be surprised if some of these type of things already happen.

I don't see Nate as a given by any stretch. It only takes one team to decide he is worth 3y/9M and he is gone. Lots of teams can still do that. I am just starting to doubt that any will. Nate is a "go for it now" guy. No rebuilding team is going to give him that type of deal to be the back up PG on a losing team.

Of course it happens. I'd do it. If you can make bets with teammates why not write a fat check and say it was a bet. Like I bet you $2 mil I'll swim with sharks before you DERRICK :D

But he does put bums on seats and could be worth a signing for teams with low attendance.

Could be. The one thing that would really hurt would be if Charlotte signed him and he provided the extra little edge to give us their draft pick next year instead of a better pick a year or more hence.

Don't we already have 12 players on the roster? If he signs, who goes to the 13th spot?

Don't they already have their Nate in Kemba Walker??
