Al Jefferson is the type of player you get if you're making a playoff run. Typical MJ move right here. Stupid and nonsensical.

People complaining for no reason. Got him on a 3 year deal instead of 4, and we will still have our pick next year unless MKG and Walker turn into absolutely studs. Wah Wah Wah.

Not to rain on your parade, but Jazz fans are singing in the streets. "Big Al" was the cause of much
pain for us. Good news is maybe he looks better on your team matched up with someone who can
play defense. He has to play with a stopper, because he is a turnstile. He literally watches people
blow by him to the rim. You might fall in love with his offensive numbers, but then again there is a reason
he is called a "black hole". The offense stops when he touches the ball.
I do hopes he works out for you. He's a good guy, and he'll have some amazing offensive games for you.
Ok, I've got to go join in on the celebration! Big Al is gone! He's finally gone!

Also, his contract comes off the books just in time to extend Walker, Biyombo, MKG, etc. The 3 years is especially what makes this a nice move, and with Gordons monster expiring coming off the books next season we can make a little noise then as well if we would like.

not thrilled about it but the contract is alot better than I was dreading being only 3 years and not the 15+ million he was looking for. looking forward to him drawing some of the attention off of Kemba and MKG so they can perform even better

Re: Cats Pursuing Al Jefferson
This is a relatively good deal. If Jefferson plays well and wants to opt out for more money after the second year, the Bobcats will have a great trade chip for the 2014-15 season.
Also, you don't have to worry about age killing him. He'll be 31 by the time the deal is over, assuming he doesn't opt out. It's a good move that doesn't hurt the rebuilding, but also improves the team.

I wanted another year in the tank and this takes us in the opposite direction. I would have much rather had Pek with the same money.
That being said I hope we plays great for us and it'll be exciting to see us win some more games next year. I think having Biz go against Jefferson every day will do wonders for him.

Re: Cats Pursuing Al Jefferson
Well glad to know the team has no direction and no plan. This is a horrible deal. Glad it is only for three years but he is getting paid way more then he even close to deserves on this team. Anything over $10 per was going to be a terrible idea. This is in the running for one of our worst off seasons yet.

I don't know whether to be happy or royally pissed about this signing. He's undoubtedly the best big we've ever ha had an will be amazing for Kemba, but at the cost of Wiggins? Randle? We likely give up the 11th pick to Chicago this year. Yuck.
investigate Adam Silver

Re: Cats Pursuing Al Jefferson
Yeah, a 28 year old center that will average close to 20/10 for us on a 41 million 3 year deal is so terrible....
Anyone see what Tiago Splitter got? Big men are always overpaid. Its just the nature of the beast.

Can we bench him and Kemba next season to make sure we get a top pick still?

So because someone else overpaid Splitter we should completely abandon our plans and over pay a guy who is just good enough to get us to maybe 9th or 10th in the east. Now we are a worse treadmill team than we ever have been. Not good enough to make the playoffs and not bad enough to get a good pick in the draft. This is the worst move this team could make. It shows they have no clue what they are doing and are caving to whiny fans who have no vision and no idea what it takes to build a franchise. This is just terrible.

You're giving Jefferson too much credit. He's been on a number of bad teams before. Unless Walker and Kidd-Gilchrist make huge jumps, they won't be a playoff team.
People keep saying they would rather sign free agents next year after the draft, but there's no guarantee you'll get a player as good as Jefferson. He's willing to sign with you next week, you can't turn it down.

What is your definition of a treadmill team? A treadmill team is a team that has absolutely maxed out its potential. Do you think Walker, Henderson, MKG, Zeller, Biyombo have maxed out their potential? No, me neither. People on here talk about wanting to trade for Rudy freaking Gay and such where we would actually have to give up assets, but we sign a guy out right at a position that is by far our weakest and people get upset. Getting Parker, Wiggins, Randle, whomever is a crap shoot. We have been horrible the past 2 years and not received the number 1 pick. I still think we will have our pick in the 8-10 range, and we are the complete opposite of a treadmill team.
