I am sick of all the drama queens in the NBA as a whole.

Dwight Howard can go **** off. I hope that douche just re-signs with the flailing Laker team and cash straps that team for the next five years.

Well it looks like Atlanta, Dallas, and Milwaukee will strive to be 38+ win teams again next season. Strike those three teams off the potential tank list. I'm starting to think there might not be as much tankage going on as originally made out.

There's still Boston, Philly, Utah, Sacramento, Orlando, Phoenix. All six are worse without question. Then Dallas is still pretty bad, LA could be horrible without Kobe, Detroit and Toronto could be major flops as well. That's ten teams.

Did Calderon seriously get 29 mill from Dallas? Cuban, wtf?

I'm glad Royce got moved and Howard went to Houston. Houston and Dwight deserve each other. Houston has been running that franchise too much like a business and treating their players like chattel lately.

His much vaunted "Plan B." I think they're sailing without a rudder down there. Just add Bynum and - presto - absolute cluster F.

Just stumbled across this article too, entitled "Detroit Pistons wisely restrained amid free-agent frenzy"

http://www.freep.com/article/20130704/S ... ree-agency

Three days into the NBA’s annual free agency and trade bonanza, here’s where the Pistons stand:

No Josh Smith.
No Andre Iguodala.
No Rudy Gay.

No anybody.

No one knows what the off-season will eventually bring the Pistons, but one thing does appear to be clear.

They are trying to avoid some of the goofy numbers (Tyreke Evans for $44 million, anyone?) being tossed around.

The Pistons eventually must give up a first-round pick to get rid of Gordon’s contract, and they are entering the final season of Villanueva’s deal.

So it appears the Pistons have learned some lessons.

Wow, that's a lot of money to give to Josh Smith. To pay him that much money and play him primarily at SF would be a hilarious waste. I think Detroit believes Drummond is still too raw to be a full time starter. Either way, that's a good frontcourt rotation.

I'm not sure of Detroit's cap situation now, but I think they still pursue signing a guard to round out their starting lineup. Possibly a PG because if the trade for Calderon last season was any indication, I think they're losing faith in Knight running the point.

Is Billups still ring chasing? Darren Collison would be a pretty comical addition.

Weren't they interested in Gay before? Could see them moving Monroe for him.

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_NBA 13m

Pistons want that pick they owe charlotte (top 8 protected in '14, unprotected after) to be as bad/low as possible.

The Pistons guard play is so bad that the highest I could see them is 7th in the East, which would still be only the 15th or 16th pick, which is still a good pick.

I'm thinking its more like the 11-14 range, which I would take any day for a year of paying Ben Gordon. There will be a good bench player for us in that range.

Or maybe if we are too good we can trade the #8, #13, #14 to get into the top 5. Probably unlikely. Too bad this isn't the NFL draft.

That's more likely than you think. The unlikely part is Charlotte getting three picks between 8-15. There will be a team that's picking in the top 5 that is more concerned with depth, or feel like the player that they really want may drop. Charlotte would probably have to take on a bad contract though to get into the top 5 with three late lottery picks
