So considering some were even more disenchanted by the twitter account. Are they taking a step back from further judging him based on misunderstandings like those now that we see that that actually is not him?

Ah. Was wondering how trading Wolters away would go down.

I was just a wee bit miffed.
Now, I'm curious to how or if Rice gets minutes with Beal, Porter, Webster, Ariza, and even Temple in the lineup.
Also, Wolters might have made the Maynor signing unnecessary.
Time will tell.

I am greatly relieved. I will just evaluate him on his play and expect there will be nothing notably bad.
Didn't say I would trust him or like him right away. I will wait and see.

I saw that Micheal Lee posted that OP and Rice has signed their contracts. I haven't seen any terms for Rice though. Has anyone seen details anywhere? I'm anxious to get the EG gave Rice a stupid contract discussion started.

Glen Rice Jr. on sliding to 2nd rd: "I was just happy to hear my name. You can’t get greedy. I was just as happy as the 1st pick." #wizards
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Wizards’ Glen Rice Jr.: ‘I don’t need any extra motivation’
Glen Rice Jr. didn’t expect to wait until the second round of last month’s NBA draft to get picked, but he was too excited about his arrival to be worried about the slide. Reaching the destination was more much important to Rice than any disappointment from having to hear 34 names go ahead of him.
“I was just happy to hear my name,” said Rice, the 35th pick of the June 27 NBA draft. “You can’t get greedy. I heard my name. I was fine. I was just as happy as the first pick. I can guarantee it.
“I was ecstatic. I didn’t think I was going to be as happy as I actually was when it finally happened,” Rice said. “I know it’s been my dream. I’m sure just like most other guys that got drafted to play here at this level. For a dream to come true after all the years and years of work to put in. not too many better feelings than that.”

Re: Glen Rice Jr.
At least in interviews it seems like the kid has a good head on his shoulders, strong sense of priorities:
http://www.monumentalnetwork.com/videos ... ec17ed0000
I like that he knows he'll play if he can focus primarily on defense first, getting other players involved and then scoring.
Shows smarts that he went out of his way to cite how hard Okafor works as a reason to be excited to be with this squad, that it inspires him to want to work to keep up.
Funny quotes about never having beaten his dad in HORSE.
Looks more comfortable in front of the camera than he did in the Jalen Rose Bill Simmons interview, though I suppose that's in part because he has already been drafted now, and is relieved and happy to be here. Still seems humble about it, hoping to play significant minutes.

He said he has to learn to play hard all the time which is a common comment as rookies acclimate to the pro game. That doesn't = he was lazy. Foolishness......

Team President Ernie Grunfeld is definitely overdue for a second round gem, and initial impressions are that he might have found one in the smooth swing man out of Marietta, Georgia. A Wizards employee told me that Rice, Jr. had been killing it in the morning practices, displaying an array of impressive dunks and shot-making ability.
Rice, Jr. definitely stood out in the scrimmage that I witnessed. He simply showed he looked the NBA part. It was hard to tell between Rice and Porter which one was the lottery pick. I knew coming in that Rice was a heralded scorer but the most impressive aspect was him being the loudest player on defense, constantly alerting teammates of screens.

Love it. There's no question that the kid has late-lottery/mid-first round type of ability, I thought that before the draft. I'm a huge proponent of this acquisition and I can't wait to see what this kid develops into in a few seasons.

If he hadnt sold or given away so-many 2nd rounders over the years, he might have discovered more gems.

Since success with 2nd rounders is less frequent, having more chances is important.

He definitely has some Nick to him in an interview but I think he will mature and get better as he gets a little more comfortable in front of the camera. All the head scratch and lip licking in a sign he is nervous.
I do kind of see him as a Nick 2.0
With a much more stable team that he is landing on and a better coach, I think he will turn out better. Might take a year or so though. If I was to guess right now, I think he will start to settle in by mid season but I expect plenty of mistakes in year one.
