A solid 2nd pick... not even close

He cant create off the dribble, he's a SG, he can't create space for his shot, and is not able to get inside unless he has space in transition.

I just don't see it, there is room for improvement of course, but he's almost a done product...so.. not so sure.

Its a safe pick of course, and he'll contribute, but maybe a poor pick when all it's said and done.

How is he a done product at 21?

I've seen just about as much as I need to of Victor Oladipo at PG. It's not his NBA position. I don't see the instincts you need for the position. He could be a backup PG when we need. But I really don't see much point at trying to develop him to run an offense.

I like just about everything else I've seen from him today. He's active on D. His on-ball D is relentless. So disruptive in passing lanes and swiping when a guy's crashing the lanes. His shooting looked good today and I like his willingness and ability to get to the basket. I especially like his confidence. We need to put him at SG and let him excel, IMO.

How can you make that statement after one summer league game? I agree he's a SG, but let's see how he does during the season.

Well I've been seeing him for 3 years, and his improvement too, not just a SL game.

I'd love to have him in my team, but not as a 2nd pick, just that.

I mean, even Reggie Bullock, I'm a UNC fan, can play pick&roll really well,... Oladipo is having troubles with that at SL level...

I don't know man, his will is great and he has the physical atributes, but it's a long way to go for him on the offensive side, a really long way to go.

You did not follow Oladipo for 3 years...

What's wrong with that? Those could make him effective. We're not asking him to be Carmelo out there.

No, but everybody keeps expecting these guys out of him. The same people will be the ones calling him a bust unfairly.

Just a reminder, Lebron James got dunked on by Britton Johnsen in his first summer league game. He's going to be an awful player right?

Yes, Dipo's playing out of position. Yes, he's not look like a PG on his first SL game. Yes, I want this experiment to continue at the very least during the SL, whether he plays PG on the future or not does not matter, only the experience and the skill he's building does.

Relax on the dipo hate. Some if you act like one game will tell you everything about a player. Obviously a rookie will improve..
