How about this trade with Charlotte:

Trade Checker:
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6309755

GSW out: David Lee
GSW in: Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

Biyombo gives us a serious defensive presence on the front line. Thomas is a mess and is vastly overpaid, but maybe Jackson can work some magic on him and rehabilitate him to some extent -- his past career numbers certainly indicate he could be a lot better than he has been lately. Most importantly it gives GS salary relief from Lee's contract, this year (more money to spend on shoring up the bench), and in the future, as Thomas' contract only goes up to ~$9M next year, whereas Lee's goes to ~$15M and a year later. It reduces GSW salary by $2M this year, $1.6M next year, and $10M two years from now.

Charlotte might be tempted to bring in All-Star Lee, and I'm sure they would like to dump Tyrus, they just need to give up Biyombo to make that happen, and take on more salary, which is not a problem for them (they need to add salary this year anyway to get to 90% of the cap). With Al Jefferson coming in, maybe they can afford to let Biyombo go.

That does leave us with a pretty low scoring front line, however the Warriors have plenty of firepower on the wings and backcourt, can play Barnes at 4 for some more punch when needed (not a problem with Iggy to backfill), and if Bogut is healthy he will contribute a bit more on the offensive end.

Are the Bobcats throwing in a first as well for Lee?

Well, we could certainly try. Maybe they give us a first, we give them a second? Even without that I think it helps us long-term, but I would certainly ask for a pick.

I like the idea of no more dead weight and Thomas is that. Biyombo is so raw, not sure how this trade upgrades our team.

Bobcats will amnesty Thomas in order to make room for Jefferson, so that trade won't be possible.

If Charlotte wanted Lee I'd expect they would have offered nothing (giving the Warriors cap space or TPE to make other moves) - then not signed Jefferson as having both Jefferson and Lee (and Zeller) makes no sense.

Just throwing this out there but would you guys do this. We give you guys your tpe and give you Faried and you guys send us Harrison Barnes. With our recent signing of Hickson, Faried becomes expendable. Maybe even send andre Miller your way, as it seems were going young.

I;ve heard good things about Biyombo but admittedly have never seen him or his team play. I used Tyrus Thomas on NBA 2k7 as a SF/PG and he was devastating, so I'm all for that part.

It's ridiculous that you think Hickson makes Faried "expendable".

Barnes for Faried, Miller and our TPE?

I accept.

Not a fan of the Denver trade, giving up a good asset for that is not necessary with TPE's. I would use the TPE's to acquire Nash and Scola, and sign Jermaine O'Neal.

The Biedrins TPE of $9M is not sufficient to cover Nash's salary of $9.3M. But honestly, I wouldn't want to pay $9.3M for Nash plus $9.7M next season.

What are y'all thoughts on possibly trading for Jimmer Fredette to take over back-up PG? He is on trade block. Proven to score and is cost effective. I say go for it!

Been a Lakers fan for 17 years. The Warriors do NOT want a 40 year old Steve Nash as their backup PG.

You don't. Best case would have been if they could bring O'Neil and have Jack come back. Not sure who they can get as a playoff backup PG. Nash ain't the one you want.
Loved Cap 2, but would have loved it more if they had replaced Falcon with Black Panther. OK...Falcon can fly. I get that BP is like Batman.

I definitely wouldn't add him as a backup point guard, but might consider getting him as instant offense off the bench... that said, due to being picked pretty high, isn't he somewhat expensive? We could probably get comparable product for less with someone like Morrow.

Yeah I'd rather go another route...we could use one more 3 point shooter, but not a sg.

Nash's career...while excellent...is near the end. Last year showed a clear TREND...a patern of limitations and as he gets OLDER...normally the slope of decline is steeper...however...his PAYCHECK does not reflect that.
CENSORED... No comment.
