I was hoping to see Devoe Joseph there. I think he has a shot of making an NBA roster. Plays hard, has some NBA skill. Might be a good combo guard/ 3rd guard for someone.

Really liked what I saw from him last year in SL.

Mark Lyons lookin nice... we need a young athletic ball handler on our squad who can knock down the 3

His moves are a bit herky jerky though

I am excited to see Jordan Taylor. I always liked him on Wisconsin and thought with some time overseas he could be an interesting guy to bring over. Not really a quick or athletic type, but he is a smart back-up with good defense. He is someone to watch for sure as a third guard.

The reality is we have Stone, Ross, Acy and JV there. We really don't need any of the other guys to do much but just give our guys their shots. JV should be getting loads of touches from Stone. They'll be deadly off the pick and roll.

I am kind of nervous about Jonas being in the Summer League. This is more of a guard-chuck fest than a big man development opportunity. Hopefully we just have him down there to continue to build chemistry with Ross and Acy, and some condition work done, get accustomed to Nurse's offense, and then sit him out.

Yup, it is not a place for big men, but if Stone gets the primary responsibility I think he will look for Jonas. The names like Taylor, Karl, D. Joesph and Micah Downs are all good shooters, who are not chuckers. Stone is pass-first so hopefully we will be running a good offense. Vegas is not the be all end all, so I don't think they will work JV too hard.

The same former Raptors Summer League Player (former Warriors, also).
No correlation with Antoine Wright and Julian Wright.

Mbakwe's the most interesting pickup there IMO, in terms of players that have a shot of sticking on a roster. 13.9 rebounds per 40, good athlete, good hands and instincts. A 6'8 C but with a 7'4 wingspan to make up for it

Jonas will probably dominate SL. He proved in the preseason and the March/April meaningless games stretch, that he'll dominate statistically when defenses have their guard down. JV's combination of length and touch means that a defender needs to have his hands up and prepared or else he's not going to be able to bother the shot at all

Expecting something like 14 pts/7rebs + 1.7 block from JV. Of course on good percentages. So in other words, he will get not many touches but still will be efficient.

Just hopefully he plays around 30 mins, otherwise it would be a bis of wasted time for him to play in that league at all

Nice, I like the roster this year. Especially the additions of Mbakwe, Mark Lyons, and Aminu.

Last year's team was unbearable.

I'm surprised to see Taylor going undrafted few years ago, this kid was such an offensive beast during wisconsin years and reminded me of a poor man version of Jameer Nelson. Would love to see how he performs in SL.

Coby Karl eh? hopefully his dad coaches us after we draft Wiggins/Parker/Randle next year...

If Val isnt one of the best players in Summer League Ill be shocked he was almost unstopable
at the end of the year.

Agreed. He was a complete surprise not to be drafted. He is the kind of player we normally would have drafted had we the second rounder. He definitely gets the camp invite.
