You have to have an opinion.

If you don't approve or disapprove at this time, then that is your opinion.

Oh I know and that is how I voted. Staunchly undecided. I will not deny you of your data point.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Based on:

- gutting a fair # of (obviously) incapable staff
- getting a 1st+ for Bargnani

I approve.

Next move will swing our poll big time I imagine...

For sure...but you have to start somewhere.

I had thought of making a "baseline" poll asking how people felt when he was hired, but based on the early results of this poll, my guess is it would be about where its at now.

I don't understand what's so hard about this. I took the poll to mean what is your opinion on Ujiri thus far. Not the future, but now as in so far.
For me the fact that we haven't gone after every free agent just because like we did with BC is relief enough, but that we also got amazing return for Bargs is phenomenal. With Colangelo many of us didn't even think we would trade Bargs at all. How can you be anything, but approving of what Ujiri has done so far.

Yeah. BC may have done all the same as Masai up to this point.

I'll judge Masai when he shows us he knows how to build a team. Right now his only bold move is signing Julyan Stone.

Most of those who strongly approve are the same 15% in the polls who were still loving off BC nuts even when the writing was almost on the wall a couple months ago. Simmer down folks and take off the Paul Jones rose colored glasses nothing has been accomplished yet. Some fans will cheer for anything Raptors related you throw their way.

I think you need to simmer down. I approve of Ujiri's actions thus far and have never liked Colangelo as a GM so cool the generalizations please.

I'd think its the opposite.

Colangelo haters love that he dumped Bargnani.

Anyone qualified to be a GM would have traded Bargnani. If the roles were reversed and BC came in here after Masai as the guy who drafted Bargs, BC would've traded him too. Absolutely anyone who accepted the new GM job would've traded Bargnani.

Once you get past that you realize that Masai hasn't done anything real yet.

I am really surprised by the early results of the poll.

Given how many people want to see the roster gutted, I am surprised that there are practically no disapproving votes.

I would have expected it to be at least around 15-20% or so.

Well fwiw, he did get value for an amnesty candidate (Bargnani). So for now, I'll approve. Now to see what's next.
In regards to those tank pics, I think the moment Kyle Lowry goes down by injury, that will be the day the reigns will be pushed towards Stone and the tank will ensue. I think Masai is just playing it safe until it happens...

In comparison to BC he is "approve" but as it is, it should be neither as he hasn't done or said anything about direction of this team yet.

After making a pretty good trade for Bargnani, practically kick starting all the action this summer, he hasn't done **** all except find an Nba player we've all never heard of to be our back up pg. I put neither approve or disapprove, and will wait for the next move. I'm pretty sure we are tanking which he wouldn't get an approval rating from me anyway for until lottery selection day depending on where we draft...

Neither Approve nor Disapprove

Trading bargs was a no brainer.
Keeping Casey is a head scratcher.

Need to see how this off season and season plays out before I can approve/disapprove.

Gotta go with Approve.

He finally took action on Bargs. He also turned down a Detroit offer that BC might have jumped on. And he cut Kelly, along with other staff that were tied to the previous regime. And he signed a backup for loose change instead of some inflated number on the reasoning that its only a two year partially guaranteed deal. All good in my books.

As for not moving on DD, Gay or Lowrey, I can't see any demand for these guys that would bring back worthwhile return, so no action is the best course of action.

He hasn't done anything blatantly wrong yet. I agree with most that he hasn't made many major moves so it's tough to evaluate at this stage, but he hasn't overbid for a useless player with the MLE, hasn't taken on stupid salary in a trade, hasn't done anything to harm the long-term outlook for the team.

So I approve his work thus far on the basis that the few moves he has made appear to be fairly positive (including his build-out of the front office team).
Interviewer: Championship #2?
Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

There's nothing to suggest that Masai cannot see the abyss of mediocrity that the Raptors are heading towards, there's also nothing to suggest he has a treadmill mentality where making the playoffs just to make the playoffs is a worthwhile option.

The fact that he hasn't dumped Gay and DeRozan is slightly disappointing for people like me but he's probably just waiting for the right deal.

This board is full of undecided pansies.

The Bargnani trade singlehandedly brought my interest back in the team.

Based on what I have seen so far I would say I approve.

My opinion could change but that is up to MU and the facts that are laid out before me.

For those that are saying you can't possibly form an opinion because of a lack of concrete moves, think about how quickly and often how accurately you form an opinion of a new boss. It is not the specific decisions that he/she makes but the aura he/she creates and the general philosophy of the work environment that he has that is often apparent very quickly. Now your judgement will become more nuanced over time but you very quickly form a positive or negative opinion.

As of now I strongly approve of his general approach. It is not like he has done nothing. What he has done is immediately gut and start rebuilding the foundation, which is the front office staff and infra structure. Rather than immediately start adding additions to the house or a new roof (like BC did in his first year) MU quickly gutted the infra-structure and took out the one player that was obviously negative to the team culture. Now it seems as though he is patiently waiting to look for the PROPER pieces to build this team rather than add pieces that just add some improvement. I reserve the right to change, but this attitude really sits well with me as an initial impression.
