If Val isnt one of the best players in Summer League Ill be shocked he was almost unstopable
at the end of the year.

For the sanity of this board he better dominate

MCW looking nice. His first step is lightning quick literally gets into the lane on demand always in attack mode. It's kind of like Rondo his man gives him a 5 foot cushion daring him to shoot and he still magically finds a way to get into the paint.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Also interested to see Taylor. PG is thin for the raps, Taylor has some talent.
"JJ is a fineness player." - knickerbocker2k2 (meaning to say "finesse", about James Johnson)

Turnovers aside Lamb is KILLING it. 18 points on 6-for-7 shooting with 20 minutes left to play on pace to break Reggie Jackson's 35 point record yesterday. OKC has so many assassins on their squad.

The reality is we have Stone, Ross, Acy and JV there. We really don't need any of the other guys to do much but just give our guys their shots. JV should be getting loads of touches from Stone. They'll be deadly off the pick and roll.

I am kind of nervous about Jonas being in the Summer League. This is more of a guard-chuck fest than a big man development opportunity. Hopefully we just have him down there to continue to build chemistry with Ross and Acy, and some condition work done, get accustomed to Nurse's offense, and then sit him out.

Jonas will probably dominate SL. He proved in the preseason and the March/April meaningless games stretch, that he'll dominate statistically when defenses have their guard down. JV's combination of length and touch means that a defender needs to have his hands up and prepared or else he's not going to be able to bother the shot at all

Whoa, you really changed your tune on JV?! That's amazing! :D

So are these games on Raptors TV or do we need to buy that Summer League broadband thing to watch them?

player stat predictions anyone?

Mine
Val: 20 ppg, 10 rebs, 2 blk, 55% fg, 80% ft
Ross: 17 ppg, 4 rebs, 2 asp, 44% fg, 35% 3fg
Acy: 8ppg, 8rebs, 1.5blk, 52% fg
Stone: 6 ppg, 7ast, 5 rebs, 40%fg

Probably overly optimistic depending on how many minutes they play. Would love to see Val featured as the focal point

Excited to see Devoe Joseph. Kid has some talent.

This may be the first chucker-less summer league squad we've ever assembled..

I wish we had this guy though...

I wouldn't be surprised if George Karl becomes Casey's lead assistant in a few days. I doubt it but stranger things have happened. The guy doesn't even have a job yet for this season.

Has the entire roster of an NBA team ever showed up to watch their summer league team?

This is like an NFL OTA. Kind of cool if this becomes a thing with the team. Is the CBA ok with it?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Unless I'm a complete and utter moron, I don't see a stickied official thread for the summer league games that begin.....

TOMORROW.

I'm pretty stoked to watch some **** basketball. What about your guys?

We can start the discussion off with this:

Mike Ganter ‏@Mike_Ganter 5m

Full gym for Raps workout in Vegas. All summer guys plus DeMar, Aaron Gray, amd freshly minted Raptor Tyler Hansbrough. More on way.

Tyler's in the house!

Also:

Mike Ganter ‏@Mike_Ganter 1m

Add to that list Lowry, Amir, Steve Novak, Rudy Gay. They all just walked in too. No sign of Landry yet, otherwise all accounted for I think

DeMar is being wheeled off the court on a stretcher after Hansbrough executed a stunned overhead suplex while wrestling for a rebound.

Nah I made that up
