Just say no to mediocre vets filling bench spots when we still aren't sure which direction the team is going.

On Gooden specifically, he's been a solid player his whole career, but fell off a cliff last year. I'd leave that reclamation project for someone else. Maybe back to Chicago or Cleveland.
