Are we watching the same player? He cant handle pressure or double teams. Every time he gets pressed he can't do anything, he passed the ball out every single time, depressing how bad it got. I know he can finish inside, but thats no consolation when your point guard cant dribble the ball pass basic defenses. Its not a nitpick, it is the most important skill of that position, its a catalyst to everything.

He couldn't handle Sweden, what will happen against serious competition and when teams realizes he cant handle the ball? He bursts easier than a bubble, he will be absolutely unplayable.

What's with his FT%? He's dropped down from his "best FT shooting center of the century" to like an average center rate.

Tank Commander Klieza came to play today! Leading the team in points with Val as the second leading scorer.

Something very encouraging with JV is his ability to draw fouls; he was doing it in summer league and now doing it on the national team too!

Second leading scorer today too while only taking 6 shots. His efficiency is a thing of beauty.
Props to TZ for the sig:

They're playing Sweden dude, don't get too excited. The score would be the same if it were the Carleton Ravens vs. Sweden

Hey! We were playing without Jerebko and Jeffrey Taylor, who both will join the team in a week for euro basket.

But yeah, we're pretty awful :(

Leader in EFF. His foul drawing ability will make him into a star, thats for sure. I laugh when i see people saying Vucevic is a better player. D-Mo with an 8/8 line in only 16 minutes and Kalnietis with 5 assists in 8 minutes. Something positive going forward.

He saw how much our board loves Drummond so he youtube'd him and saw his free throw misses and thought, "I can shoot like that too."

Very OT, but since we dont have Eurobasket mega thread, and I am too shy to make one  I know some people will be interested, France made final cuts, their 12 men squad is :

guards :

Tony Parker
Nando De Colo
Thomas Heurtel.
Antoine Diot

forwards :

Nicolas Batum
Boris Diaw
Mickaël Gelabale
Florent Pietrus
Charles Kahudi

centers :

Johan Petro
Alexis Ajinca
Joffrey Lauvergne

Team is good, but not overly impressive. They had a lot of losses, most of being bigmen, as you can see, their center position is really weak now. Noah is not playing, so as Seraphin, Traore, Mahinmi, Turriaf and Gobert... Literally 5 best centers of theirs pull out.
Leo Westermann and Evan Fournier were cut.

^ Alexis Ajinca

France will excel in guard play but doesn't have much depth. I assume the starters will be the following:

Parker
Batum
Gelabale
Diaw
Petro

Their vulnerability will be inside. If teams play zone and they have a bad shooting day then they can quite easily lose to middling teams. And their biggest asset will likely be Batum, not Parker. Nando De Cole usually plays very well for them too.

Well, I am just glad Kazlauskas is making decisions and not you. So if a point guard passes ball out during pressure instead of dribbling and turning it over it is a bad thing? 4 ast and 2 to for backup PG is pretty decent. My point is he is better then Juskevicius and Kazlauskas will take backup PG to the championship. There is just no other option how to throw this kid in the fire. 5-10 min a game he is not going to sink the team even if he will mishandle the ball one or two times.

Just like Team Canada has shooters off the bench that other countries have never heard of, it's a safe assumption that other countries probably have the same.

No, its bad because he CANT beat pressure, that he HAS to pass the ball out every time. Is it that hard to understand? We got that bad, we don't even care that the PG cant dribble pass defenders anymore? Come on, this is sad. The final statline is now the criteria?

Guy was bad, even against Swedish it was very obvious, especially in the forth, when they started to put some pressure. He stopped and couldn't move every time he faced pressure, it was astonishing contrast seeing him handling the ball, and then watching guy like Pocius handling the ball. Guy was borderline unplayable against Swedish!

I made my point, we have to agree to disagree.

I would guess and i fonted it, their starting 5 should be Parker, De Colo, Batum, Diaw, Petro.

Honesly, Ajinca had a very good season in France, reached finals. 15.3 PPG (57.6 FG% : 1.5 PPS), 6.3 RBS, 1.6 BLK in only 23.6 minutes per game. Huge body, good rebounder, shot blocker and can score. A lot of acclaimed Euro centers would look bad in NBA game. Ajinca is not terrible.

France obviously lacks depth, looks beatable.

In all honesty, I like Jerebko, and Taylor. I think both their styles translate very well in the international game.

Jasikevicius was terrible at beating pressure ( one of the reasons he could not establish himself in NBA ) - but still was arguably best PG Lithuania ever had.
You are like a broken record focusing on one aspect of the game, why don't you compliment him on perfectly timed passes he made today. He could have had easily 6-7 assists if swedes would have not fouled Jonas every time he got ball in the post. Plus you keep forgetting the fact that we are talking about backup PG. LT needs to have at least one. Who is it going to be if not Cizauskas? Why don't you compare him to Januskevius and admit that no way Januskevius can be given that backup PG position on NT.

Lol, I thought your bold players were current NBA ones.

I'm indifferent about Ajinca, but still not a NBA player albeit better than Alabi. He was just awkward though, like his motions,

Could be the rims in Europe. That said, he's an above average free throw shooter and that won't change for most of his career, so there's no need to freak out.
