I think their youth was seen as a negative, but Serbia's got a lot of talent and their coach is awesome. Lithuania doesn't look like it has a game plan right now.

This is just the first game. It all comes down to 1/4 finals here. I would rather lose now than there.

Kleiza's pick-and-roll defense sucks. He doesn't even creep towards the ball-handler and he ends up getting whistled for the foul with cop out defense by reaching.

A lot has been made in our media about basketball being a religion in LTU - and I'm not disputing that - but I just want everyone to know that you can say the same about Serbs. Look no further than Yugoslavian basketball history for proof.

EVERYONE there knows how to play ball.. and pick-up games are hilariously different from ones I've played in Toronto. Everyone passes, everyone cuts, and everyone's got a good fundamental base.

Of course I'm exaggerating and generalizing a little bit.. but that's the impression I leave with every time I go visit.

LTU is playing poorly (shooting and interior defense) and Serbia had a great 1st quarter.

Serbia was fairly ranked 7th and LTU 4th pre-tournament. Basketball is a game of runs and anything can happen.

6 pts... close game but gonna have to grind and dominate the start of the 3rd quarter

I don't know, I kinda like the game I'm seeing now. Sure, there isn't a lot of points being scored, but both teams are clearly giving their all and sacrificing their bodies on every play. Grizzlies/Pacers type of basketball.

Lithuania is battling back now. Who knows, a more relaxed team as well as better defensive strategy can help Lithuania grab the lead in the second half.

Lots of missed shots but game has been entertaining for me at least. Very fast paced game.

Serbia has some blazing quick guards.

as bad as LT played so far it is only 2 possession game at the half. They need to relax a bit and it will be all good.

I agree. I am in Calgary and if I play with fellow eastern Europeans, be it Serbians, Croatians or Slovenians it is fun and team oriented game. Anytime you end up playing with locals or people from Asia/Africa, forget about any team basketball - iso ball at its best:)

To be fair both of them have been pretty terrible so far. The best big on Lithuania right now is #7, who is one of the clones that they have. Everybody else have been in the range from complete garbage to terrible.
