Yakhouba Diawara Expecting Deal With Eurocup Team

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Sep 9, 2013 5:20 pm

Yakhouba Diawara – the free agent who has garnered interest out of NBA teams this offseason – expects to sign a contract with a Eurocup club this week, a source told RealGM.

Diwara still will work out for the Miami Heat on Tuesday and the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, a league source told RealGM.

Diawara had been considering potential options in the NBA and overseas from his offseason home in Miami, but signing in Europe emerged in recent weeks as the most likely outcome. At 6-foot-7, Diawara has always exhibited tantalizing length to go with athleticism and a defensive mindset.

After a standout college run with Pepperdine, Diawara entered the NBA in 2006 with the Nuggets, playing two seasons in Denver. He signed a multi-year deal with the Heat in 2008, but was released in 2010 and has played in Italy over the past three seasons.

What a boring time of the year for the NBA. Diawara gets the leading story, really?

They have to put something out - was hoping for more FIBA basketball news, but I guess Diawara tops that...

At least it is only a couple of months - we have it good compared to most other sports.

congrats koobs

If koobs didn't hit a late 3 (lwhere spo sat wade, haslem, chalmers) in the last regular season game against the nets and the heat didnt win in double OT in 2010, they match up with the hawks in the the playoffs instead of the celtics. The celtics stomp the heat 4-1 and gain the confidence to shut down LeBron and advance to the finals. Little did they know they ultimately sealed their own fate of the big 3 era by making lebron quit and come to miami, and creating the miami team we know today. We love you koobs, thank you and good luck.

(Crappy story to get a headline)

I think I remember that game. I believe he banked it in. Shocked the world.
