Somehow I suspect we'll be able to withstand this unfortunate injury.

Right around the time where Ernie has to decide to pick up Singleton's option for next year.

When you say breaking, you mean it literally. Well, now EG and Ted have a perfectly valid excuse if the Wiz end up in the lottery again - Chris Singleton broke his left pinky toe.

It actually wouldn't shock me.

Not that he was going to get playing time anyways, but at least we KNOW Harrington and Booker should get the bulk of his minutes.

In all seriousness I hope he makes a full recover but I didn't think he would get considerable mins this season.

So who gets his 90-seconds-in-a-blowout court time?

Can they reach an injury settlement with him and be done? Him and Jan perfectly embody the Wizards for the past decade. Terrible drafting, terrible player development, terrible talent evaluation. EG should be fired ten times over for the 2011 draft, yet he's still here making moves.

Grunfeld refused to say which way he was leaning with regards to the fourth-year options for Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton, but added that Singleton’s broken left foot complicates the decision-making process.

Complicates what? What's there to think about? Shouldn't this be about as certain of a no-brainer if their ever was one?

If it's a hard decision, I think we come to the realization that they never had any intension of saving up cap space for a max free agent next offseason.

This is frightening.

If Singleton is a tough decision, then it seems pretty likely that they intend to opt in on Vesely's 4th year.

Of course he is going to say that. He isn't going to throw an injured Singleton under the bus. They know what they are really thinking.

? I think it does the opposite. If he were truly playing poker, he'd say "Singleton's injury's unfortunate, but he's a talented young player and he'll work hard to get healthy. We're evaluating all of our young players, and we like their upside."

I agree w/ the others: this quote means that, but for the injury, EG was going to give 1-ton a chance to earn an extension during training camp - a chance which I don't think 1-ton deserved.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
