Shouldn't make difference. LTU has players who can get hot and explode. Happened to be this game. Even players who haven't scored a lot played their game, good team effort. Should boost confidence for most players.
The only player who underperformed and looked down was Darjus, my opinion.

DMO looked soft, though he didn't play much.

One thing I find kind of alarming RE: Val is his turnover rate.

Dude can't play 5 minutes without turning the ball over at least once.

He needs to focus on trying to finish off the catch without dribbling. These 2 dribble hook shot moves down the lane and dribble spin moves are cute but result in turnovers. Needs to focus on putting up hook shots off the catch and then he can start using a fake to clear up more spacing for the dribble.

Also needs to react to double teams smarter. Needs to know where the open man is going to be but that's more experience and chemistry than anything.

I don't think Lithuania will have much of a chance against Spain. A silver medal is an accomplishment.

JV bringing a winning culture to Toronto 8-)

great display by our NT, good game by Val.
I wouldn't write us off against France/Spain really, anything can happen. we might not be the favorites, but I think we have a good chance. Spain are a much weaker team than they were a couple years ago.

Spain it is. Can't see how France could come back, Parker carrying the team on his back but the're still trailing by 14 in the half.

Wanted to mention Donatas and Kuzminskas, but I though it wasnt worth it. They both looked pretty bad, but thats nothing special or alarming.

He was a big part of the Italy win, though. I personally expected more of him. Kuzminskas just seems out of place, only one good game against the weak Belgium, decent game against France is the only positive. I had big expectations for this guy, but he didn't show up. Pity, cause he's the future SF of this team.

Donatas played good in some games, barely played in others. It was the ladder today. Kuzkinskas is not mentally ready, its his debut, and you can see, he is always so nervous out there.

How's Rubio looked in this tournament? Anyone watching a lot of the Spanish games?

Not that impressive. UcanUwill should update his ranking to put Kalneitis above him

He does deserve an academy award for flopping. He has flopped hard at least 3 times against France now. Unfortunately this is a theme that is consistent across the Spaniard's roster.

Overtime! Reminds me how Lith came back when loosing by 18 in 3rd quarter to Spain in WC2010.

I was so wrong , lol. Parker making his redemption for the NBA Finals. A international gold is his only need.

France! What a horrible play by Spain to end the game.

I can't believe it. Spain was up 14 at the half and then just played poorly in the 4th and OT. And they were flopping like crazy... looked like they had the ghosts of Chris Paul, Reggie Miller, Manu Ginoblli, Luis Scola and Anderson Varajeo on the floor at once

LTU beat France but le bleu looks a lot better now. Ajinca had like 2 pts but will be tough for JV/Javtokas on Sunday. And France won with Batum struggling today. LTU will really need to play perfectly. Usually teams get their revenge in these type of tournaments.

One advantage for LTU will be their rested players. Parker looked exhausted in OT. Then again in a championship game the adrenaline should overcome any fatigue.

Now, Spain might regret that they lost to Italy.

Lithuania had 2 great games and showed class. So as France, but in this game particularly, I wouldn't say they looked very good. Their defense was good, they shut the paint, but their offense was terrible looking. Parker was playing alone there for the most part. He had 27 against Slovenia, and 32 in this.
Lithuania is good at defending perimeter scorers and has proven that number of times now. If they cover Parker at least adequately, that team can fall apart. Meanwhile, it would take way more than one player for Lithuania to fall apart.
It is a close call.

I couldn't take anymore of this flopping and acting hurt by the spaniards, and the refs, well.... SO glad we won.
