They may not have a clue how to develop young talent, what to do with all that money or how to play organized football rather than backyard style punt and chase, but the Brits have sure sold the **** out of their league around the league. Although with Germany joining Spain as leagues that play a much higher quality of football, better marketing for the BuLi and new foreign tv deals could close that gap a lot in the coming years.
I dunno how much of the gap will close because PL just got a new TV deal themselves, and the league's still growing in profitable and/or growing markets like North America and Asia. I think it will be some time before a BuLi game is shown live on American national TV like PL on NBC. As for BuLi vs La Liga, Bayern-Dortmund rivalry will never get as big as Barca-Real, but I do think it's highly attractive and marketable.
Btw playing a much higher quality of football is subjective. Bayern and Dortmund are great teams, but just a couple of weeks ago PL's 12th team () destroyed BuLi's 3rd team. This season especially has been really fun with the favorites struggling and preseason pretenders looking like contenders.
