Trade for a PG with a huge contract ($22.5 over 3 years left) who will then become a backup here but use our leading scorer and only decent SF as the trade bait? Phoenix is tanking so they definitely don't want anything to do with Gay or his contract and if the Raps are trading Gay that would almost certainly mean that they are tanking so Dragic and his contract would make no sense in Toronto.

Sorry but your logic here is baffling on just about every level.

Dragic is OK but Lowry is likely better and Phoenix is looking for draft picks.

He's 27, same age as Lowry, and I don't think he's an upgrade over Lowry. I also have no idea why Phoenix would want Gay.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Roko Ukic could have been better than Dragic if we had the right coach and personnel.

Now back on-topic. No way does the Suns want anything to do with us

If Ukic was as good a prospect as you thought he was he would have been drafted higher than 41st and he would have eventually latched on somewhere and succeeded in the league. Instead he went to Milwaukee after looking awful as a mature 24 year old rookie in Toronto and only proved that he wasn't an NBA player and was never seen again.

If you want to compare his skill set to Dragic's? Dragic was a much better shooter, better defender, better athlete, much stronger and better at finishing at the rim. Ukic had solid passing skills but not much else going for him.

Ukic was simply an overhyped D-league quality player. Not the first time that's happened with a prospect and it won't be the last.

Not a chance. I'm not a big fan of Dragic but he's at least capable of using his off hand and can actually shoot the ball. Roko Ukic had some fatal flaws that he was never able to get over that could not compensate for his strengths. This board as a whole undervalues the ability to make a jumpshot. Which, after years of Bargnani and Calderon, is probably understandable.

Unless this involves a third team, I can't see it happening. The Suns want to tank, not make the playoffs, so they don't want Gay or Lowry.

Do not want, Dragic is a whiny little ****, don't like him at all and no room for him on this team

Raps Get: Rondo

I think this core team with Rondo is just as good if not better than the Knicks and easily a second round team.

Sorry but I don't see Ainge parting with Rondo for anything short of a lotto pick or established young star.

Rather not have Dragic, but I would like to take that pick off of Phoenix for a Franchise star like Rudy Gay, they can't find anyone like him in the draft.

It only makes sense if its Dragič for Ross. Phoenix collects young talent, while Toronto gets first guard of the bench and possible replacement for Lowry.

It is still a stretch. Phoenix could get something better than Ross, meanwhile Dragič is not what this team really needs.

Oh, no... Ukič was exposed as prospect. He is a slasher who cant finish around the basket at tolerable rate, he is below average 3 point shooter and a TO prone. He is very inefficient even in Euroleague. Dragič always had an advantage over Roko Leni.

Goran was/is much faster and agile, much better ball handler and more gritty defender. He always was a better prospect, and had tools. Roko had nothing to match, its not coaches problem he turned into crap.

He's a solid player, there's a little bit of Nash in there.

This board loves its' PG controversies. Only two years ago there was one in Houston with both Lowry and Dragic.

A healthy Lowry is much better than Dragic.

So op is dragic and he wants to come to Toronto because that's the only logic I can see for posting this topic..

Give up our best player for a PG that Lowry is way better than smdh..

Raptors trade: Rudy Gay+Aaron Gray to Indiana
Raptors receive: Danny Granger+Ian Mahinmi

Raptors trade: Kyle Lowry to Phoenix
Raptors receive: Goran Dragic

We step back from 7th-9th and move into the 11th+ category

.......Not sure if serious...

what good does this trade do us? Dealing two of our best players for an expiring deal and a worse PG? Would it not make sense to try and get at least a pick or a prospect if we're dealing these guys so we can get a better pick?

This deal makes no sense

Trade 1 is plausible, trade 2 not so much. But the issue with the first trade is it kills a rebuild with Asik and Lin both having poison pill deals.
