How come you rarely see Wolves gear in stores and what not?

Post#1 » by Minnesota Power » Sun Oct 27, 2013 3:25 am

Every store you go in has Vikings, Wild, and Twins stuff, and usually U of M or SCSU or MSU Mankato depending on what city you're in. Even a lot of stores got North Star Apparels! Why isn't there more Wolves stuff? Does it have to do with the fact they missed the playoffs for so long? Will we start seeing Wolves gear show up in places like Target and Walmart if they become good playoff team again? You have to look in niche sport memorabilia shops that no one even knows exist to find any! and so few people on the street have Wolves shirts or hats or jerseys, but everyone has vikings, wild, twins, north starz, and college teams.
You see more Lakers and Heat and Bulls and Celtics stuff! Lets better hope we start seeing more Wolves stuff to show the NBA were a legit market and fanbase. I am a diehard wolves fan win or lose, even if they never make the playoffs again in my life! I don't want this team to go the way of the supersonic.
I want to move back to Minnesota, I miss it sooooo much!

When demand from consumers is low for an item, retailers tend to lower or completely eliminate supply because they can't make a big enough profit on the goods.

I feel your pain, my years in college were painful because no one, I mean no one, wore wolves gear. Everyday I would see several hundred students and nothing. The Twins own the freaking campus and it seems like for young women it's very socially acceptable to sport Twins gear. If you are a young lady and you want to look like you are into sports so you can impress some guy, put pn some twins gear, it's socially proofed. The only chick who would wear anything wolves related would have to be an actual diehard.

I see Viking and Wild stuff quite a bit too. Wolves gear is very hard to come by and even rarer to see out in the wild. That's why I always try to throw a fellow wolves fan sporting some gear a sly smile. We are a part of an exclusive elite club that nobody wants to be in.

If the wolves start making some noise, the gear will show up in stores a bit more. They will probably have to win out pretty well consistently over the next few years though to start making a real dent.

Still see the stray Garnett jersey around here. Its rare, and that is all you see for gear.

It's because everyone knows Taylor is going to sell to a new owner who wants to move the team to Seattle because we won't be able to get financing for a new arena in 2056.

I see it slowly creeping back. Lots of throwback Wolves logo tshirts. A part of the problem is probably that most people don't really like the early/mid 2000s wolf we had. That was just not that cool to begin with. The new logo that is a take off of the original is much better. Once we start winning this year, there will be more!

This. I remember seeing Wolves gear in stores like Target ten to fifteen years ago. I think the Wolves are just out of people's minds with the nine straight losing years.

Before Rubio finally came over to become a member of the team it was actually possible to get Wolves gear at selected shops in Germany (mostly Adidas stores, though). Since his arrival, I haven't seen ANY Wolves gear at all which is kinda surprising because at that time the Wolves had no appeal whatsoever, save for the diehards.

A reason why I haven't seen any Wolves gear recently is that I spent only about 6 weeks in Germany in the past 15 months and one can be happy to find any Basketball gear where I currently live (Norway).

Its easier to just find online retailers for Wolves gear. Its near impossible to find in Australia, as they arent considered one of the popular teams. Frustrating, but there are ways around it. Currently waiting for the home Rubio jersey and Muskies t-shirt to arrive after ordering from Fanatics

Try being a Wolves fan in Texas. The only Wolves item of gear/apparel I've EVER seen in my life was a Kevin Garnett jersey at a Hibbett Sports back in the early 00's. That's it. Usually you'll see a random team's tshirt from time to time, but nothing for the Wolves down here (obviously).

All my gear I have comes from el internet.

With more wins, it'll come.

But man I must say, it's been yeas, but I still dislike the jersey design. It's pretty damn ugly and weird looking. The light coloring on the two sides makes it look cheap. I'm trying to find a site where they still make the all blue or white in the KG era, and modify it to say Rubio or Love. Those were great.

Your best bet would be to go on ebay to find those. They stopped the production on those.

I might be able to find a Love 90's retro jersey, but not Rubio since he joined this team after the jersey change was made.

I'd buy a Wally, KG, Cassell, Sprewell, etc. jersey and get it customized at a place like exclusive pro. Could try to find a Sam Mitchell one and change the name plate to Love.

crappy draft picks don't exactly help the cause. it also doesn't help that the team has a habit of pressing the reset button before we even get a chance to buy the jerseys. every now and than a general manager will pull off a blockbuster trade that will determine the fate of their franchise for the next few years. that would be considered a tuesday for mchale and kahn.

Color scheme looks nice but I find the logo to be far too big.
