Predict the Wizards Record '13-'14 season.

Put me down for a 45 win prediction. It's higher than I really believe, but I think there will be even more of a tank race this season than normal, and that's worth a few extra wins to teams that are still pushing for the playoffs.

Why not.

One one side you do have the teams tanking to content with. One the other you have no preseason with Gortat.

Plus we don't know at what point they might trade Trevor A to get back some assets.

They might be happy enough with 7th instead of going all in for 4th or 5th. First year of playoff is going to be a learning experience anyway and they probably don't want to get to high the first year cuz then there is a bigger window to regress the following year.

They will gun to break the 45 win record that those Gil, CB, AJ team racked up. That get them at least to 46.

I was at 37 pre-trade. I'd be at 41 now. I just think the age and lack of depth in the front court will cost us, and if Wall gets hurt the wheels fall off while he's out. Seems to me too many if's to expect a 45+ win season. I'd go with 41-41 at this point.

Ceiling: 45-37

Expectation: 41-41

Floor: 25-57

(think the most likely range is 35-44, last year I think i predicted 28-36 before the wall injury)

i was at 30 with okafor out. Still concerned about injuries but if healthy then high 40's would be workable. Still this squad has all the same trainers facilities etc, we're still vulnerable to injury punctuated by streaks when we get a really good run. In the interest of setting a low bar so I can be pleasantly wrong: I'll say 37

If less than that: bonus! We get lotto picks in a good year, and probably hit a refresh button on the front office to get a new outlook.

If more: excellent, Wiz win. Woo.

Boy, do I feel stupid. I updated the list, pointed out that somebody else was listed twice, and didn't get my old prediction off of it. You can see on p. 29 that 48-34 was my official update. (I didn't dig back through to find when I posted my earlier 43-39).

Edit: I could also feel stupid for not having picked, say, 28-54, which is looking more realistic now, but 48-34 is where I left it before the cutoff time.
