Philadelphia will be without Jason Richardson, Arnett Moultrie and rookie Nerlens Noel for Friday's game. All three players aren't expected back until January at the earliest. Meanwhile, Kwame Brown is day-to-day for Philly after missing the team's season-opener.

For the Wizards, Otto Porter and Chris Singleton remain sidelined, while Nene is a gametime decision.

"We just have to do a better job as a team of playing team defense," Ariza said. "When they get the ball down low we have to do a better job of getting in there and hitting them."

Nene Injury Update.

Will the Wizards get off to their fastest start since 2009 ? :o

Wittman will go before Ernie does if we start off slow.

we will win because its all about finidng a rhythm and Wall founnd his from the 2nd quarter on. Looked like the Wall from the end of last season. He will win us this game on his own and dominate the rookie MCW

Yeah I don't mind a slow start to the season, and you can hardly say the 2nd game of the season is a "must win" but you better damn **** win this ****.

I'm almost hoping for an 0-8, 1-7 type of start.

I think at this point a catastrophic start may be the only thing that will keep Leonsis from extending Grunfeld.

Aren't they still paying for Saunders? I highly doubt that would happen.

It's game #2 of the season, and Nene is already downgraded to game-time decisions? Jeezus...just trade him now.

Not much of a fan are you? I doubt you would cheer for the Wiz in the playoffs either.
Look we all pretty much want Ernie out, but that's not a reason to root against your team.

Wall needs to bounce back and run the offense.

Webster will get his looks tonight.
And the defense should look better.

Gortat will NOT start today. :(
Wittman also said he wouldn't know about Nene's availability until he warms up.

I'm intrigued by Tony Wroten. I know PPA hated him leading up to the draft, but he had a decent enough pre-season and looked good against the Heat. Good size, athletic and quick. Sixers scooped him up for a 2nd round pick. I wouldn't have minded that deal over Eric Maynor.

He's only been here a week. He will be getting plenty of time and will surely be starting soon. It isn't like he has a lot of competition from our other bigs.

Wroten was a guy with obvious potential when I watched him play. His college numbers weren't good -- terrible efficiency, meh rebounding, more turnovers than assists. But, good size, athletic, aggressive. He rated as a 2nd round pick.

As a rookie, he was bad in very limited minutes. We're talking Vesely/Singleton/Seraphin bad. Didn't look at his preseason numbers. He had a very nice game in Philly's opener. If he keeps that up, he'll be in the All-Star game. :)

Well with Nene not playing (I was ok with him missing 20-25 games this season) and Gortat coming off the bench I assume we'll see:

Wall/maynor
Beal/Temple
Ariza/Webster
Booker/Harrington
Seraphin/Gortat

I really think GR JR should get temple's minutes...Actually Temple should be getting minutes over Maynor >.>
