dortmund is the best 2nd place team in bundesliga history after 11 games! Just shows you how good bayern and dortmund are. Scary to think, that bayern isnt even playing that good at the moment.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

Today, all of a sudden I found myself at a Schlagerparade in a bar because an aunt of my gf celebrated her birthday. It was terrible, really. The room next to us was full of Eintracht fans watching their home game vs. Wolfsburg.
Max Arnold saved my day with a late goal to secure the Wolfsburg win. :D

:censored: finally.

I kinda feel bad for Nürnberg, but whatever. And I hope we get to see lots of Darida shots in the future. That guy rules. After Cisse and Kruse, we need our next do-it-all-guy on offense.

I'd rather have Kruse or Klose up front.

Firstly I disagree, Mesut's scoring has improved significantly over the past couple of years, especially with the NT, but more importantly that doesn't matter to the formation being effective. What would matter would be whether Reus, Mueller and Kroos can score goals, whether our pressing can finally become as lethal as Bayern or Dortmund's, while maintaining our genius on the ball. And that would be resounding yes on all fronts as long as Hummels replaces Merte next to Boateng because Mesut just basically does his usual thing, but with Kroos sitting deeper alongside Schweini and Khedira, we wouldn't leave those massive gaps behind our first wave of pressing.

Last years Copa del Rey final is a perfect example of what I mean. Özil should've scored at least three but scored none. And he doesn't have the physical ability needed against CB. If we do that false 9 thing we need at least Müller or Kruse up front instead of Özil.

Nope, the guy playing up front(if we do that false 9 thing) should be Marco Reus. That's where he played best for Mönchengladbach and out of all those guys, he's the best scorer. Just behind him would be Max Kruse, though he hasn't shown that he's able to do it against international opponents.

BTW: Nice win for Gladbach yesterday, even with our back four missing Dominguez and Brouwers. Really hope that Stranzl won't see that fith yellow card pretty soon or we might be able to enjoy a pairing of Tony Jantschke(who's played well at centre back) and Thorben Marx. :o

It's less a false 9 as genuinely playing with no striker, just three CMs behind a three AMs.

That's the difference between this 4-3-3-0 and just using Kruse or Muller up top of a 4-2-3-1

cgf, stop distracting! Let's talk about today's Koln-Union game !!!

I think Muller would be the best option upfront if you are going to use a 4-3-3 with a false 9

I wasn't expecting much with tusche suspended and on the road, but...ugh, that was ugly.

Oliver Kreuzer, the team manager of HSV, is trying to pump up his team by saying "we will not lose at home in the rest of this year!".

1) It is already November.
2) They only have three home games until December 31.
3) These three games are vs Hannover (11.), Augsburg (13.) and Mainz (12.).
4) These teams have a combined 2 wins and 12 (!) losses on the road.
5) In fact, HSV will play against 3 of the worst 4 away teams. Only Braunschweig is equally horrible.

Let's see how the Hamburg team copes with this "intense" pressure.

Mainz will beat them at home!!!!

Well at least I hope so. We are terrible right now. Had the opportunity to secure a spot in the midfield with a win in Augsburg...that would've given us 16 points.

Instead we manage to lose against Augsburg. Now both teams have 13 points, Freiburg won, Braunschweig won and we are even deeper in the mud than we were prior to the game.
If it wasn't for our hot start of the season we would be on Braunschweig level right now in the standings. :banghead:
I hope each and everyone in the club understands that we are playing against relegation and desperately need to buy at least 2 quality players in winter with Baumgartlinger and Zimling injured for half of the season so far.

Relying on Sebastian Polter, Dani Schahin and Shinji Okazaki to score goals is like waiting to be relegated. If not this season it will be next season as soon as N. Müller and Baumgartlinger leave to a bigger club.

I'll never understand why Shawn Parker isn't given the minutes by Tuchel. Maybe he doesn't train well enough or he doesn't like his attitude or whatever. That still doesn't justify playing the likes of Okazaki and Polter over him because they simply can't be considered a threat to score a goal at all.

That's cause he's awesome. If he hadn't had such an injury riddled career he'd be a legend.

In an interview today Özil listed the things he loves about Arsenal and they were: the manager, his teammates, London life, and the passing of Rosicky.

That Amoroso, Koller and Rosicky combination was awesome in 01/02.

Side note, I restarted my soccer career two weeks ago after like 4 years break from playing organized matches....what happens yesterday? Broken thumb. I've never broken or even torn anything in the 10 years before my break while playing soccer. And at that time I was playing between 4 and 6 times a week. Now in like my 4th training I break my thumb. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

While it would be great for their fans, I kinda hope Freiburg drop out of the EL soon. They have too good a squad to be in the relegation battle and Streich is too good a coach for the BuLi to lose them. Especially once they settle in after all of the changes. I'm a big fan of Darida's and Streich is going to do wonderful things with him, especially with Mehmedi to run around in front and Schmid rampaging up and down that right wing. They should be able to save themselves even if they advance from the group, but man those extra games are rough on a squad that lost so many key players over the summer that have striped them of their depth and chemistry. I can't help but find myself rooting for them this season, even though I want Streich to move to Schalke and become their Klopp.

I'm not feeling Freiburgs squad at all. Even if there was no EL i see them maybe as maybe the #12-14th best team in the league after all these key players lost.

They've got a good keeper in Baumann but overall their defense is pretty meh. Sorg is good but sometimes prone to mistakes. Diagne has been a mistake waiting to happen. Ginter so far is worlds away from last year. And the other defenders aren't better either.

Midfield: Schmid is a stud. Pilar and Darida are said to be good players as well but so far the injury bug hit them hard. Schuster is a solid player but not a game changer. Coquelin so far couldnt impress. Kerk is awesome but maybe a year away from regularly stepping up in Bundesliga games.

And finally their biggest weakness: striker

Guede sucks, Freis sucks, Hanke is ok but he is more a striker that will hold the ball and pass them to a teammate. He doesn't give you huge goal totals. So far I also can't share your love for Mehmedi. He seems very active always but I don't see the results. He is not what I would call a dangerous threat to the opponents goal.

This WE, one of the oldest and most bitter clashes in the BL will take place, the Niedersachsen derby between Hannover 96 and Braunschweig. Some Braunschweig "fans" dressed this pig in H96 attire, and painted a "1" on its back. This is both the jersey number of Ron Robert Zieler and the late Robert Enke. An attack aimed at Zieler would almost be funny, Enke would be uncalled for. :-?

Image

BTW: after a long odyssey through Hannover, the pig was safely returned to an animal shelter.

Ultras are surely going a bit too far these days.

Just yesterday fans of 1860 were burning a Bayern flag in the 1860 II vs. Bayern II game.

Not sure if these guys have anything similar to a brain in their head.

I like rivalries but there really is no need for letting a "Hannover Schwein" run through Hannover or burning flags.
