Wait, it is virtually impossible to win the lotto drafting 7th. Wait, you are playing a video game, thus it is a virtual situation.

the bulls won the lotto a few years ago with the 8th? worst record and got d rose. and numbers are numbers real lotto or not.

Since 1993 only 2 teams have won the lottery with the worst record in the league, since 1993 3 teams have won the lottery being slotted 8th-11th

1993: Magic, 11th worst record
2008: Bulls 9th worst record
2011: Cavs 8th worst record (from clippers)

since the draft in 1985, only 8 teams have won the lottery while having the worst or 2nd worst record in the league (4 from the #1spot)
since 1985 12 teams have won the lottery while having the 5th worst record or later (2 being from the 7th spot)

It'd be so badass if we got the 14th pick from the Knicks and won the lotto with that one.

Not sure if posted elsewhere, but a bunch of college stars we are hoping to draft next year had great nights.

Parker: 22points 6 rebounds 8/10
Wiggins: 16 points 5/9
Aaron Gordon: 9 points 8 rebounds at half
Randle: 23 points 15 rebounds 6/12

Smart's night was not as good-11 points 3 assists 5/9,

Ok this drives me insane when people do this you are violating rule number one when looking at statistics, which is trusting a small sample size. I don't care what the past history says, if you get the worst record you have the most percentage chance of winning lottery because you have the most ping pong balls end of story
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Tim (Gainesville)

Orlando is building a solid foundation for the future with Vucevic, Oladipo and whoever they draft next year. But with Vucevic's defensive shortcomings are they going to need a defensive stopper at PF to ever truly contend?

Kevin Pelton (2:55 PM)

I don't know if you need a stopper. You probably need someone better defensively than Tobias Harris.

Ryan (Portland)

Is there such a thing as too many assets? Look at a team like Orlando. Vuc, Oladipo, Nicholson, Harkless, Harris, and 2 likely lottery picks in the stacked 2014 draft. How do you make sense of that?

Kevin Pelton (4:00 PM)

Never, because some of them aren't going to pan out and the rest are candidates for a consolidation trade.

You skipped a part. Unintentional I'm sure. Bolded it for you.

Agree with the guy, we need better defense at the POWER FORWARD then using our best SMALL FORWARD as a full time four.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Yeah, I've seen enough of Hark at this point. He is not our starting SF if Harris continues his play from last year. I'm not calling Harkless a bust but he isn't a guy that should get 30+mpg every night.

I violated no rules, all I did was show its not virtually impossible to win the lottery later in the draft, anyone would WANT More ping pong balls, end of story

i get what you're trying to say, but why in the world would you include the 80s lottery process in this?

That's an interesting article on basketball prospectus and when stats become reliable. We might be able to sign off on Harkless sooner rather than later. The team as a whole needs about another month to judge where they likely will end up barring major injury.

So much this. Never can have too many assets. It's nice to have some for a change on this team. Usually they're ones no one wants. Gives you so much flexibility.

I didnt skip anything. It's right there in my OP.

Although I'm not sure what bolding the question from a random fan really proves. I think we do need a better defender than Tobias at the 4, although the downgrade defensively at the 3 would be significant.

So Tobias can't defend the 4 and seemingly can't play with other scorers.... Interesting. Really hoping this guy turns into the player everyone is expecting him to be.....

Yep, it is understanding math. Like the person that watches roulette land on black 10 times in a row and thinks the odds are higher to land on red now

yeah but you could've made that point without trying to contrast the teams with the lowest odds against the teams with the highest odds.
