If this was offered during offseason I would've done it. But Bass is arguably our best player this season. And is worth more than Williams.
The latter is garbage, just like Beasley 2.0, actually worse as Beasley was good at one point.

Lee, though he has improved the last few games, could care less, I hope he get's dumped for Shved,Cunningham only.

We are offering Kris Humphries and Keith Bogans or worse in return.

Shaved and Williams for Humphries works.

Humphries off the bench could push them into the playoffs.

How can anyone argue that Bass is our best player this season? He's the main reason we're the worst defensive rebounding team in the league (his defensive rebound rate is on par with Courtney Lee and Phil Pressey).

Williams is exactly the type of guy the C's should take a chance on. Maybe he flops but if we dump Lee/Bass for him and Shved we will be able to get a low-cost look at two lottery pick talents and clear cap space.

Failed lotto picks are the types we should be taking chances on, but Williams is the wrong one. He plays PF (where we're stocked) and we've got two guys--Green and Wallace--who are older better more expensive versions of him. I just don't see the minutes necessary to develop him.

We could totally use a big 2 guard who can create his own shot. I'd love to get a failed lotto pick to try out at 2-guard, somebody like Xavier Henry who we could've easily acquired in free agency had we not been so close to the luxury tax line.

Pistons are playing poorly. Joe Dumars is ripe to get ripped off in a trade. He's in the last year of his deal, the Bobcats own Detroit's pick this year, and I imagine that this team needs to make the playoffs for him to keep his job. Josh Smith is chucking almost 6 3s a game. That's insane. I imagine Dumars would do anything to get Smith back to the 4 spot. Or....perhaps even deal him? I suspect that Dumars will be desperate.

Bass for Williams makes sense for both teams... Minny needs a veteran player who can help them make the playoffs and we take a chance on a young player...

I wouldn't guarantee Dumars is 'desperate'- we don't know the dynamics of their front office and ownership. But the DET pick to Charlotte is protected through the top 8 this year- it's never been done, as far as I know, but could DET trade us like, half the pick? If it's in the top 8, it goes to us- 9 or worse and it goes to Charlotte?

Risky as hell, but I'd consider Rondo/Lee for Drummond/expirings/1st.. maybe involve Jennings and route him to a 3rd team?

Also consider Dumars could fire his coach and buy some breathing room. But that's a poorly constructed team, even if they add Rondo. Talented, but poorly constructed.

Anyone want to chime in on Williams' game? Position and fit issues aside, it seems like he puts up numbers when he gets minutes. And there are rumors Adelman dislikes him, without any gossip about why.

Personally I would seize on MIN's success and desire to unload spare parts and offer Gerald Wallace for Williams, Cunningham, and Shved- It would wreck the rotations Stevens has been using, but get us out from GW's contract and put him on a contender. Cunningham's expiring, Shved is the kind of guy you can pawn off to a contender, and Williams is still a prospect. The problem is, we're left with only one small forward, Williams won't get minutes with us either, and we'll be over the roster limit. Maybe swing Williams/Bass for Asik?

I was thinking the same thing after his benching the other night. I don't think they move Drummond, I'd could see them admitting that the Josh Smith experiment was a failed one and sending him packing. I'd still love to see what the BFF's would do on the same team.

Smith is not the problem, they have no shooters.

I didn't say he was. What I said was that it was a failed experiment. He doesn't fit with Drummond and Monroe. He would be ideal with Drummond. However, those 3 cannot co exist. The question is, who will get you the biggest return. Drummond would. Well, I don't see them trading him.

Therefore, I think Smith is their most movable asset,as I don't see Monroe getting as many calls based on his RFA situation.

I don't know I could see them trying to move Monroe for a good 2 or 3.. Maybe for Ross and Derozan.. They have big expirings in Stuckey and Villanueva..

he was the strongest guy in his draft ( a zillion benches i think). he is a better shooter than his numbers indicate, i watched him a lot in college and just a handful of times at mini.
i think he would be worth taking a chance on. only 22 yrs old. he is the same size as Bass. pretty athletic.
a tweener, that could guard 3s on D.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

I could see that as well. Although, I think a lot of people are scared away by Monroe (RFA and all) ust don't think that Smith is on that team 12 months from now. Maybe I'm way off...

I heard something really interesting the other day about Danny Ainge and the rebuild from someone within the NBA basketball operations circles.

He told me that by the end of next season he wouldn't be surprised if Sullinger and Olynyk were the ONLY current Celtics STILL on the roster.

WOW. What the heck does that mean? Means Everyone else is dealt or expiring? Even Rondo?

I don't know about this.
