They don't care about the regular season. They want to make a noise in the postseason. Which is a probability.

Who would've thought the Clippers dodged a bullet by not being able to trade DeAndre for KG:

However, since you called him a douchebag almost affectionately, it wasn't really ironic.
I agree. But even IF I was being serious... what's Kobe got to do with it? You have Bosh in your avatar. It doesn't make it ironic for you to call a T-rex a dinosaur.
"You think a T-rex is a dinosaur? Ironic coming from the guy with Bosh in his avatar"

Re: Who deserves the Nets blame?
Everyone deserves a little blame. Deron can't stay healthy, KG and Pierce are running on empty 10 games in, JJ is overrated, Lopez is one dimensional, Kidd can't coach, Billy King put all his eggs in one basket because thats exactly what their amateur NBA owner wanted.
People who didn't have blinders on knew this team would encounter problems. Its the people who were anxious to see another super team battle Miami that talked this team up more than they should have.

Re: Who deserves the Nets blame?
With the whole league going towards the "small ball concept," and relying alot more on athleticism, the Nets thought they could win with quite possibly the oldest, and most un-athletic lineup in NBA history. They wouldnt last 4 games against the Heat in a Playoff series.
Their concept is as old as their players.

All the parts of that are right except the part at its heart: if anything the league seems to be trending back from the smallball threshold. More good bigs are emerging, and a number of teams are starting really big frontlines again.
Still doesn't help the Nets. They're not only old and slow at the positions you don't want to be old and slow at, their system seems very simplistic and its not helping anybody.

They suck and they are old how hard is that to understand.
Except for Brook Lopez they have nothing. DWill fell off hard. Ever since he got traded hes been hot garbage.
KG PP are old, you cant have both starting and expect wins.
Back to the drawing board for BK.

Isn't it a bit early for this? 72 or so games to go still.
I don't think anybody could have claimed that the Nets would start hot, its an entirely new proposition compared to last year. Sure there are some aspects that seem to be failing but give it some time, the Nets are potentially a very dangerous opponent to any team.

Yep, there was always gonna be an adjustment period, and there was always gonna be trouble with small injuries with an old team like this. They're still gonna make the playoffs comfortably, probably have home court too. They don't really care about their record 10 games in, and they shouldn't care. All they should be working on is what their defensive philosophy is gonna be in the post season, and I bet that's what they're doing.

They play in the east, they could suck it right up and will still probably go into the second round

Nets defense is better when KG is on the bench. That says a lot about how washed up Garnett is these days.

Re: Who deserves the Nets blame?
Ok let look at it from a different perspective.
C Lopez
PF KG
SF Pierce
SG JJ
PG DWill
Coach Jason Kidd
Which one is the anomaly in that group?
The crazy thing about this, is that everyone expects this to be a one shot deal. KG will probably retire after this year. Pierce may follow suit.
For an owner to put millions of dollars in a pot for a one shot deal to put it in the hands of a guy that never coached before in his life, looks pretty foolish.
Granted its not all Kidd's fault but this is the thing...
If the team fails, people will always look back at it being Jason Kidd's fault. If Doc were coaching, JVG or SVG were coaching, you would respect their body of work and say well maybe the guys were too old.
But as it stands right now, a lot of finger pointing will go on that move.

Re: Who deserves the Nets blame?
And guess what folks? They are a NY team now. Look Im a knick fan, and I know my Knicks stink too IB4 the trolls strike. My thing isn't even about their record right now cause I know they'll be better just like I feel my team will be better.
Im just glad we have threads like these where people are willing to hold them accountable. You got 200 threads and sources across the internet to bash the Knicks, even last yr. Nets? Dead silence. Now some Nets fans hate that. They hate the knicks because we get all the attention. Sheeeiiit as bad as the knicks have been for over a decade I wished we could fly under the radar. And its like the Nets get this anti Knick underdog love for some reason. Why? Because they have this plethora of titles like the Knicks get held to. Whatever the reason, it dont matter but guess what.
The Nets wanted to move to NY, they wanted all the buzz, they wanna put billboards on Pennsylvania Ave and they wanna spend all that money. They should be held to the same....." If you cant win a title you suck" standards that everyone holds the Knicks to. No need to be proud to have advanced in the playoffs, no need to be happy to win 54 games.......oh wait, the Nets won 47 games in a season they were supposed to take over Ny. They gotta win a title or else they suck.

Its still so early. They don't have to be good now. As long as they gradually get better they'll coast into the playoffs in the East. That's when it really matters. I think they'll end up being alright. Heat still coast to a championship again, but the Nets will be competative.

I wouldn't wanna see them in a series is all I can say about that. You could wheel Pierce and Garnett out in a chair and Im sure they'll be ready for the playoffs. Then they got all that talent and depth. I actually haven't watched enough of them to know why they aren't playing well in the first place but as you said its early, guys are on minutes restrictions and they got a ton of new players so..Ill give them time but still as I said before they must be held accountable when they fail too.

Re: Who deserves the Nets blame?
This team is ass lol not one player plays with passion and that's including kg and Pierce. Only way we will get home court in the first round is because the rest of the Atlantic division sucks just as much. People are going to say it's a process and they need to get their chemistry together and blah blah but good chemistry shouldn't be the difference between being a championship team to getting blown out by the kings. This team has been so bad this season that I honestly only can look at one team and be like oh yeah the nets will definitely win and that's the jazz. Against every other team I'm expecting a loss or a very tough win. Kg is beyond washed up, demon Williams doesnt give a **** about effort, brook Lopez is allergic to dunking the ball and will only do soft lay ups and Joe is the same old Joe. The only player that I can expect to bring it every night is Livingston
