Very surprised. Went to the gym at half sure this would be a loss. Very strange line for Wall, terrible shooting but 16 assists with only 1 TO.

Great energy when you put more energy in there.

Ves was pretty awesome out there. Played deep into the 4th. Even in defending Love under 10 sec. And on the last shot. HUGE FOR VES.

Ves, Temple, Booker. If used properly and mixed in, they can compliment the starters enough to win.

I don't forgive Randy for sucking with the line ups to start the year, but happy to see he is figuring it out.

Sorry. You don't get to gloat. Randy didn't really do what you have prescribed: putting Nene in with the 2nd unit. Our 2nd unit had Vesely and Booker.

This wasn't about rotations. Webster played 43 minutes. Wall played 39. Beal, 38. Nene, 35. The bench didn't hurt us because they didn't play long. It's definitely not an indication that Wittman has found the Rosetta Stone for this ball club. Our starters can't play that much every night.

Absolutely it was about rotations. Are you kidding me. So what he didn't do exactly what I suggested. He played more of the energy bench of Ves, Booker and Temple. He mixed them in. Ves was even covering Love on the final shot.

Those long minutes from out starters are probably going to hurt tomorrow.

Glad to see Webster with a good night hitting 5 threes. The Wizards offensive bread and butter really is Wall's ability to hit the open jump shooter, whether its in the corner or elsewhere. Now that Martell's minutes are synched with Walls I feel the Wizards should be the best 3 point shooting team going forward(maybe Golden State will beat them).

When Ariza comes back he should come off the bench, his offense will suffer, but he does so many other things he can still help the team. Webster has proven to be ineffective without a play-maker on the court.

Also, another DNP coach's decision for Seraphin is great to see. Dude is terrible.

Terrible win

Anyway..walls shooting has to be mental because no way you shoot 80% from line and can't make an outside shot

If wall could shoot we would be 6-4 or 7-3

Once they get Trevor A back, that should help with that if mixing him in keeps the blend working. That would allow Webster to play some SG where Beal needs help/rest. Temple can score better then we have seen. He has only played a couple games. Lets see if he can find his rhythm and hit some open shots. He did last year in stretches.

AH is out so we don't have to worry about them mixing him in. Temple is getting more minutes than Maynor which they should stick with. Kevin need to sit for a while. He makes to many mental mistake. He can get hot scoring, but they can't risk that right now. Randy can ride this 8 man rotation for a few games. Wall and Beal are young. Webster isn't old. And Ves, Booker and Temple aren't even breaking a sweat. Nene is the only one you really have to worry about and I think winning will help him find his wind.

So Trevor A is added next and then they should get Otto added 2-3 weeks  after that.

Ves and Temple are what are helping the most right now. More defense from the PG and another big that brings length, energy, rebounding, good hands, dunks and above all else, he plays with in himself.

Yeah, and Wall was a lot more aggressive. Expect more of that. And he played under control down the stretch. Gotta give Randy some props for highlighting the last 4 minutes the way he did.

And I give him HUGE props for playing Ves down the stretch.

It's nice to get a win, but I think some of the conclusions drawn are wrong. The Wiz won because they made all of their foul shots, and their opponent shot poorly from the line. That's going to happen how many games? The Wiz played at home against a mediocre Minny team. The Wiz won't be able to play their starters this many minutes on most games without wearing them down. Playing Vesely for extended minutes against teams that are ready for him often means playing 4 against 5. The Wiz needed a 16 assist to 1 turnover ratio from Wall to win. That's not going to happen often. Playing Webster with the starting lineup and Ariza being injured was not a reason for the win - even if Webster did play his best game of the season. They're still taking way too many long 2's - particularly Wall and even Beal - and I don't see a reason to believe that's going to change.

I hate to oversimplify things like that, but I kind of agree there

If he was a low volume scorer like Rubio that'd be one thing, but if he insists on taking 15-17+ shots a night on poor efficiency that isn't going to help the team. That's Brandon Jennings status

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's anyone advising him to stop playing like that.

Walls assist to turnover ratio is staggering. He has put himself in the top 2-3 best distributors in the NBA right now.

The wolves are playing solid ball...it was a good win, but we got some exceptional performances tonight. At the same time, I think we would have had more firepower had Beal not picked up that cheap 2nd in the 1st quarter that took him out mentally from the first half of the game. The win is nice, and NEEDED...but guys need to step up tomorrow. Very pleased from Jan. Him, Wall and Beal easily exude the most consistent effort. Booker too, was helpful in spots, although he was being set up to fail having to guard a guy almost 5 inches taller then him and prolly giving up 40 lbs to him.

Also, no Derrick Williams tonight....Is something in the works there for Minny?

Walls jumper looks the same mechanically to me, just needs to work on that confidence. If he reverts back to last years averages...we'll be fine.

But **** ay, this team doesn't make it easy on the stress level.

Only 2 of Beals 21 shots were in the paint. That is weak.

Props to Webster not just for the shooting but also 9 rebounds.

Minnesota is a decent team to get a win against, certainly better than the Wizards at this point. It is good that the Wizards found a way to win. Free throws are often the deciding factor in a game.

It is true the Wizards cannot win like this every night, but hopefully they can find other ways to win. Eventually Wall is going to have to knock down shots at a higher clip. Wall/Beal (Beal did a decent job tonight) have to get to the line more. Webster has to find other ways to score besides getting 3 pointers or perhaps eliminate the 2 point jumper out of his repetoire entirely.

I agree, the Wizards probably can't play Wall, Beal, and especially Nene heavy minutes. The Wizards are going to have to rely on their bench to step up somewhere down the road.

Just got back from the game. I'm kinda surprised that some of the people that have been most critical of Wall are raving about his performance tonight. His performance was not much different than the rest of the games this season. He distributed well, but continued to miss mid-range shots and did not drive at all in the half court. I'm not being overly critical of John as I agree that he played well. I just think its funny that if this was a loss, a lot of the same people would be complaining that John wasn't aggressive enough.

Regarding the game itself, we won because the Wiz decided to play defense in the second half and hit their free throws unlike the Wolves. During the first half, the Wiz came out flat and the D was atrocious (it wasn't just that the Wolves were hot...they were getting open looks). Nene in particular played much better D in the second half.

Glad the Wiz won, but I'm still worried about them. No way should they have come out flat in the first half when they just lost 4 games in a row. This team needs to learn they have to play hard for 48 minutes, because they are not good enough just to turn it on when they want to. It worked tonight, but I have no confidence they can win this way on a regular basis.

I felt Vesely could help just the way he did. He along with Temple makes the Wizards much tougher defensively.

Couldn't watch the game due to post Wizards traumatic stress. I'm happy for the win. Sounds like Ves brought a lot of energy and Wall didn't take too many low percentage shots.

I keep reading we are only one game out of the playoff race. So we got that going for us.

3rd quarter was much better. I like Ves' energy and hustle. He really contributed to the win, good job.

Wall needs to attack more, still. He shoots a great percentage from the line, but about 6-8 more attempts per game would = more wins. Beal and Webbo were good too.

Yup...Beal hung in there which is a good thing when things start bad, but he needs to realize they start bad because he's shooting a lot of low % long 2's.

Did what Wittman wanted, had an impact even w/o his shot falling.
