You've got to be **** kidding me. He plays like 10 healthy seasons (minus the ACL year) without any issues from the ankle and now in his first months as a Bobcat, all of a sudden we find out he's had a chronic problem like arthritis in his ankle his whole life. This is so **** Bobcat-esque.

Well, that was my point. He's been in the league for years and all of a sudden he comes out with this.

This is terrible news.

How brazen it sounds is ridiculous, “It’s very frustrating,” Jefferson said. “I’m going to miss more games this season than the last three because of this injury."

The only way this has positive value is if he's on secret "tanking" orders.

I doubt any owner would pay someone 13 million to not play. Just bad luck.

I mean not playing him unless he is a hundred percent if we're not trying to win (too) many games anyway.

Not too surprised really. I'm sure a large proportion of vets with around 10+ years experience are carrying some sort of injury which could shut them down for a long time, if they chose to not play through it. We have him locked up for 3 years. Might as well let him get as healthy as possible and see what the kids can do. I just want him totally ready for next season when we see what the rebuild effort has resulted in.

It means he'll miss more than 15 games. Didn't you all know that by now? He's already missed 9 and is far from 100%. I don't see anything from that that is really news other than the long time he's known about it.

Honestly I just hope he plays 50 games.

Someone's having a bad day.

First you hope Smart blows out his ACL. Then the sarcastic bashing on Cho.

Al will be fine.

I'd rather pay Al to not play instead of Tyrus. I thought you'd like this move. I do (not that he's hurt necessarily, but that he's taking some time off), Biz keeps getting more burn AND we field a more tank-friendly lineup.

He's overpaid when he's healthy, I don't like the idea of giving a Bynum 2.0 41 million dollars to rock a suit. That's worst case scenario and probably far fetched but being a Bobcat fan since day one I come to expect the worst, ha.

Honestly, not sure if Al helps or hurts the tank when he plays, hasn't played enough games with us to tell. He gives us offense and rebounding but hurts on defense and has less familiarity with the team. I was hoping he'd play well and stat pad while not moving the needle towards wins so we could trade him around the deadline and go into super tank.

If that's ligaments, Al needs some rest, but I guess medical team would know anyway. It would be stupid making it a chronic injury, especially with 40 mil $ player... Al is going to be much, much more needed next season, than this, cause I'm gonna tell you, Hornets are going for playoffs in 2014/15! Btw I love his style, really skilled centers are almost extinct these days. Hope the big guy gets well!

Let him sit until around the week of Christmas. I want to continue seeing more Biz on the floor (and Zeller to a certain extent). I wonder how long we can keep playing .500 ball without our cash cow.

The smart money is letting him recuperate.

Fair enough the money wasn't committed to see him in a suit but playing him when injured is fools gold considering our current limited upside.

I think Cho is tanking (still)

Just more subtle.

I also think Al helps a lot with development.

He always schooled Biz when he was at Utah, Biz practicing against him can only help.

He also wouldn't hurt in the marketing stakes.

I think Al, like the franchise is geared up for 2014-15.
