Ben Mclemore with two clutch shots to help the Kings beat the Jazz. Two good games in a row for the rookie!

I continue to see Trey as a decent backup to fine backup PG in this league, not a star, because he's likely to be overwhelmed by the superior size and athleticism of this league - himself being a pretty small, not super strong, and not great athlete.

Any team asking him to be a starter and hoping to still be a top team is going to have to surround him with unreal athletes at every other position.

Portland is a VERY good team, and Burke is a rookie who has played 10 games due to missing about a month due to injury. Despite playing on the team with the worst record in the NBA, over his last 5 he's put up 16ppg 4.2rpg 5.2apg 1spg, and shooting .478 behind the arc and .867 from the stripe, though his FG% overall is very low. He also has just 1.1 turnovers per game, good for about 3.3apg per turnover! He's been the 3rd best rookie so far, cut him some slack.

Because he generally plays like a chicken with his head cut off. Doesn't post up, can't knock down wide open midrange jumpshots, just runs around like Scrappy Do and gets occasional dunks and rebounds.

What gave you that idea? The fact that he posts the same McLemore fastbreak dunks everyday?

Acording to his Sinergy stats he is average at best, definitly not better than Oladipo or Mcw.

Porter blows, two games in. Zero points, zero contributions. He looks like he doesn't belong. I hated the pick then and it looks worse now.

I'm wiling to be patient but watching him struggle is like adding salt to a wound. The wound being passing on Noel.

Is this not a rookie thread?

That and I'm a Kings fan.

No, basically because he plays on a team whose best playmaker is McRoberts. Zeller usually doesn't play with McRoberts and like all other Bobcats players is often left to his own devices. While Zeller is no great outside shooter (and might never be), he can score in a structured offense. Something I rarely see when I watch Bobcat games. I still expect Zeller to take over from McRoberts by the end of the season.

KCP defends great - look at the stats with him on the floor (opposing shooting percentages all over almost every zone go down dramatically).

Overall though, this rookie class is an embarrassment. Last year, this thread was alive - so many outstanding and promising rookies, including several potential superstars. (And A.D., A.D., and Lillard are doing nothing but advance that discussion this season).

You can point to some promising guys here, but the only one performing consistently with a good PER is MCW, and after that, we're talking horrible stats by comparison with last year's class. This is going to go down as one of the worst drafts ever - even though there'll certainly be a half-dozen good maybe even a few borderline all-star caliber players.

If these few good players where in last year's draft we'd be discussing (after the excellent guys at the top and even 5-10 guys after that) that they'd add even more to the depth of last year's class.

False. The 76ers don't suck when MCW is playing. They are a below average to average team. The Jazz just flat out stink so I don't get too excited with Burke

I wanted Portland to trade a few second rounders for him soooo bad. The only reason he didn't have a stand out year for Michigan was because some guy named Trey Burke kinda stole the show.

You should watch more Bobcats games then. We have a pretty structured offense and Zeller still sucks pretty bad regardless. All he can do is drive and either dunk, throw up some junk, or get sent sprawling to the floor. Zeller wouldn't fit in anybody's offense b/c he doesn't have an NBA position. He's too light/weak to play in the post and he doesn't have stretch 4 skills. He's basically a slightly better version of Jan Vesely.

At least Vesely has an established role as a rebounding/hustle guy off the bench. Dude has found a niche.
