GT #21: Wizards @ Hawks 7:30 PM CSN

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Fri Dec 13, 2013 5:20 pm

The 2nd quarter of the season starts tonight.

Wiz on a 2 game losing streak.

Webster may be back.

Ernie's kids have further proven how they don't belong on an NBA roster.

Wall not displaying clutchness in the last game after a good game overall the other night.

Nene is done for awhile.

Hawks have been up and down with wins. Lost to OKC the other night and let Duncan become the oldest in history to get 20/20 on them last week.

The latest from Rotoworld.com says Webster says he will play, and Nene is listed as questionable.

I'm ok with a starting lineup of

Wall
webster
ariza
booker
gortat

What my concern is how will bench points come. If we're lucky GR JR may explode for 8 or so. If jan can chip in 5 that'd be grand. And if temple and singleton can put in 4 a piece we may just have a chance.

Booker will get torched on D. Hopefully Nene is back today. I remember reading that he wanted rest, but didn't want to sit too long.

I'm ok with Booker's man D, especially on Milsap since they basically have the same dimensions...my concern is his rotations. Its kinda hard to watch at times. Maybe its cause he usually plays with the 2nd unit and there is just so much all around woe there.

If Webster plays then we have a solid shot, if Webster and Nene plays then we will win

Really would like to see the Wiz get this one. Shorthanded or not, they need to have somebody step up.

per Lee's twitter

Nene & Bradley Beal did not participate in shootaround. So don't look for them vs ATL. Martell Webster did. He should play

I'd save Nene for tomorrow. Beal prolly shouldn't be expected to play until end of next week.

One thing that will change the dynamic of this game is that ATL has Korver back. I remember last time their spacing was pretty iffy. Ariza has to chase Korver off that line. We also gotta hope Milsap doesn't go ham from the 3pt territory again :I

Even without Nene we have a shot. We need one more guy and thats Webster. 2nd, we needed one other big to play at a solid level with Nene out. Most of the time when a guy has a good game it can click. Thats what happened for Book last game so I think he will again be atleast solid and he may be help us more on Milsap the way he was raining those 3's on us last game. On top of all of this we have been humbled and are hungry. We didnt play bad the last 2 games but we shouldve won. Thsi was after everyone being exicted and talking about 50 wins. That has made them refocus and hungry.

So I hate to do it but htis game comes down to one guy. It will be on Wall. I think he will play atleast solid but we dont win with solid. He has to be good. If he's great then we win. If he's good then we can still win. Anything less and we wont. Teague will want revenge and so will the Hawks as a whole. Wall has to match that. Its on the road so you need more energy which is bad since he's tired in the 4th but with Webster back, I think it can take some pressure off him him so he has some left in the tank late. I expect a solid 22 & 10. Thats his good game tonight. If he does anything better then we win. I wouldnt be shocked for like 27 & 9-12 while controling the game. Get em Wall.....lol

Ive never been a big Korver guy. Everything you said is true but I always feel that I can get it all back on him at the opposite end. If Beal was playing it woud be great. I think he puts 25+ on Korver all day. Hopefully Web has enough juice to get a solid 16 plus.

Oh, I don't think Korver is good defensively, I just think he puts pressure on your offense to execute cause he will get his. He is absolutely deadly when he gets a decent look.

Korver's been on absolute fire this season. He's a machine. He cannot be left alone in any situation.

Korver is very underrated. He is a much better athlete than given credit for, and he's got quick hands on defense. He's been an outstanding role player for a lot of years, imo and has only gotten better as he's gotten older - almost like he's saying to his doubters - bleep y'all.

We should put GRJR on Korver. His defense and hustle impressed me a lot.

A win against Atlanta would be great since I see the Wizards and Hawks will likely be competing for that 3rd seed.

We're going on a four game road trip after this game and the Clips so losing both would be an absolute disaster. This is a must win sort of game.

Man these long delays between games is rough. But glad they are getting a chance to get in some practices for Otto and Glen and get healthier.

As for where they end up. Who knows. 3rd to 10th. Its anyones guess at this point.

Cleveland is getting better with Bynum not playing more minutes.
Brooklyn could easily make a run.
Toronto is looking interesting
Orlando could get hot at any time.
Boston is getting Rondo and Kelly O back and could make a trade.

The playoffs might not be as easy as people think.

Wall may wanna get others involved and he can do that if he wants but he has to be aggressive and on the atack. Just stay pushing the pace & keeping the D on there heels whether its scoring or passing. That will open it up for everyone else and we can steal it
