1. I don't know if it's been asked in this thread and am not willing to look
2. This comparison is asked to be considered on a talent level and not directly a skill set level whilst there are still various skills that do fall in line between the two
3. This comparison is being made for the players at the same age/relatively close. Not for one whos barely had a career to be compared to one who's had more than a lengthy one
4. I realize that circumstances are different in who the Raptors had on their team at the times these players were/would be introduced. I have little knowledge on the prior one and do not wish to be ridiculed for it.

Finally the question:

Can Andrew Wiggins be as good as and have as much of an impact as Vince Carter did in his first few years on the Raps?

I ask out of personal interest, because if Wiggins can have that impact I'm willing to watch us have some **** seasons. And I trust and respect the opinions and knowledge of the posters on this board. Thanks

If he could, we'd be blessed because we finally have a FO that won't fck it up.

Personally, I don't see the VC type impact offensively, but I can predict him having a more two way impact than VC ever had, even though VC was very underrated defensively but Wiggins will focus heavily on defense in the Paul George territory due to similar lateral quick/anticipation/long arms/quick feet, so think of Wiggin's future impact in the reminiscence of this year's PG, or slightly more versatile due to a superior slashing game but w/o the playmaking/range.

It is actually really hard to predict him like a VC, especially in the mid-range game because VC uses so many herky jerky moves to offset his Js, Wiggins seems abit more robotic but he did shown the ability to hit that stepback J, so if we project his skillset in the future, he perhaps finally learn to utilize his pivot moves to shake off his defender to create space for his Js like how PG has added this year, also the new elements like a jabstep/fake/hesitation because if Demar came into the league in this raw form yet in his 3rd-4th year he added the pumpfake, then you can bet Wiggins to do the same. What separates him from PG is that he's going to make a living at the line due to his ability to draw contact in the lane, and scoring a chunk from the open court, if you've seen Undefeated's clips on how Raptors run those variant of plays, you can bet Wiggins to score a lot on those off-ball movement, and balance those with the mixing of iso moves to hit those step back J or quick spin move layup in the lane, and of course, making open or heat check three's. Do I think his ceiling is this year's PG? I do hope so, their in-game approach are very similar.

I hope Wiggins is off the board before we pick so we don't have to see our own fans constantly overrate the guy like he's prime Carter or the next George.

Don't just call me out, why don't you break it down and tell me what you think his game and impact would be on the NBA level?

A well thought out answer to a question that specifically asked for an honest opinion, which it delivered, is then stereotyped by a poster that didn't even read all of it properly. If they had they would have seen that impact is discussed as well as talent, not just hyping Wiggins up to be Carter. It's much more than that.

Hate and narcissism just sucks the thought and energy out of this board. Like fredericklove said, if you wish to take a proactive stance on the matter being discussed, a well thought out reply would be greatly appreciated by both of us and contribute a high level of value to the topic as we get a multi-faceted narrative on the matter going. Good day Komodo

They're going to do it anyways, so why not just get the best possible player for them to overrate?

I'm sorry but if I saw anyone on the street wearing that shirt I'd have to hold back from laughing in their face.

The design and everything is pretty good though I have to admit.

fwiw, AW's early numbers are pretty much better across the board than Rudy Gay's sophomore numbers. I also think his raw skills are better than the Rudy I watched in college. I can see the "leaves you wanting more" argument, but Paul George was passive and soft in college, too. I don't know enough about AW's character to know what's holding him back, so I won't comment.

Looking forward to the game today... I'm bored out of my mind and haven't watched
him play in awhile.

Embiid knocking down the jumper
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth
